People’s lifestyles change, finances change, life happens.

My Tacoma is over 3 years old. Since then we have moved across the country, added a kid to the family and modded the heck out of it.

That said we have no plans to sell the Taco. For us the taco is mostly a recreational vehicle for everything else we use our Subaru’s. I think most people have a greater dependency on their truck which affords them little flexibility when major life changes happen.

I don’t know. Just my thought.

That said, Toyota sells a ton of these and naturally more will then be resold but it’s still a minority.

same here.. Ever since I jumped into the Toyota family from domestics (that are foreign) my wife wants a 4runner. I would be all for it when possible for us.. Get her out of that darn traverse.. So problematic we are both sick of it.. She is liking that Barcelona Red or White to match my Taco.

I'd be willing to bet a stroll through your post history is a whole lot of you hanging out in the third gen forums just biding your time until threads like this come along. You wouldn't be the first, you won't be the last.

On TW you have a lot of soft-handed disgusting fatbodies who thought buying a "truck" would make them look manly. Traded in their station wagon and then started bitching because their truck wasn't a car.

"Unnggg, it's too hard to get in/squeaks/gets crappy mileage/has an outdoor storage compartment behind the cab that stuff gets wet in."

Next thing ya know they go back to a station wagon--where they belong.

I have best of both worlds. 4Runner and a Taco. I love this thing. Yes the Engine/Tran is the OOOOOONLY thing I’m tolerating on it. Everything else is great.

I went from a 2005 Tacoma to a 2007 Chevy duramax diesel and while it was nice I missed the quality I had with Toyota so I sold it and bought my current 2015 Tundra crewmax. It’s nice and has tons of room. But I sometimes find myself missing the nimbleness of a Tacoma. Especially off-road. I daily drive my tundra and it is ok but it’s a big truck to drive around in everyday. I suppose Tacoma vs full size each have their pros and cons.

Hmm, hard to tell, the market seems a bit more flooded with them, but then again they have been producing and selling more than prior gens as the demand has increased with a new found love for trucks (people that don't really need one, IG posing, image vehicles, tuner crowd moving to them, etc.), resale is still strong but, I do feel alot of people bought because of the name and resale not realizing its not exactly the right fit for them, its still a midsize truck based on a platform from 15 years ago. Most of those threads as you noted are people looking for more room for the family, towing, etc. and you'll even see them saying "love the taco but..." and not really an issue with the vehicle itself.

I just love these trucks, they fit my lifestyle perfectly and I have wrenched on them, wheeled em, built em, had some great times in them that unless my needs change I will remain in it for the long haul. I just trade them because I get ADHD and want a different color, trim, options, etc. gotta love being single, no mortgage or kids and high resale.

Highest selling mid size by a large margin. Yes people will sell them and trade them in.

True. The Tundra is great on road trips. So much room and it’s just a comfortable ride. I love the 5.7, though gas mileage sucks. It’s also freaking huge and that makes it a little less than ideal for daily driving. Feel like I’m whipping around a charter bus some days lol. The Tacoma has some quirks, but it probably suits me better overall.
