I bought my not oem 6 ft rubber bed mat on eBay for $90. No problem at all except trying to carry it, I got the thicker bed mat.

I paid less than that for the real thing from the dealer.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
This debate always cracks me up! The best deal around is actually the OEM mat.

I hate the damn OEM bed mat.

Pain in the ass to clean sand and gravel out of the bed due to the lines going at an angle instead of being straight like the after market ones.

Thought about trying to sell mine local every time I have to clean the bed out.

    This works so much better.

You need to read the fine print. Good price if you can pick it up locally, but if you want it shipped from this retailer (depending on your address of course), you're looking at over $160. The shipping charge is more than the mat:

The angled lines and tacky finish is what holds items in place so well, that is what the mat is made for.
I have not had a problem cleaning mine with just a water hose with a pressure nozzle.

Try hitting up tractor supply. Over by the truck boxes etc. they have actual bedmats, but I have also used a stall liner for horses etc. Works just the same except it doesn't have the wheelwells cut out

Many Toyota dealers discount these OEM mats with no shipping if picked up. You can also purchase them via Amazon Prime at decent pricing with no shipping.

Right, but if you want it shipped from that particular place, you're screwed. ;)

I kept the one from my 2nd Gen, which apparently was not an OEM bedmat as it has parallel lines.

This looks worse, with the raised lip around the whole mat as well as the d-rings.

The best mat is a 3/4" thick conveyor belt scrap from a stone quarry!

I think the term "best" is subjective as it depends on what's most important to you. If holding up and longevity of the mat is most important to you, then yes, a 3/4" thick mat is probably best, however if keeping items in your bed from sliding around, then the OEM mat is designed for that with it's "sticky" finish and probably best.

Plus, don't think I would like the 'look' of a scarred up scrap stone quarry conveyor belt in the back of my Tacoma. I'm sure some wouldn't mind it.
