The interior space is the one that always amuses me. I have to wonder just how much space people need on their way to get groceries when behind me there's one guy in his empty F150, beside me there's one guy in his Escalade, behind him is one woman in her Range Rover. Gotta have that room. Then there's always 5 dudes in a little Corolla somewhere nearby. Which is why I figure it's an image thing for people to have huge giant empty vehicles they don't need.

Ya My kids are at that stage where my oldest (10) is just getting out of needing a Booster seat and she sits fine with plenty of room. My son who is 7 still uses a booster and the room is PLENTY. Our family are small framed except for me , I'm 5'9 180lbs and we all fit with plenty of room.

Ya I figured once I'm done with this second degree, done with the traveling nurse gig in a year or so, time to finally set up roots and know that sh*t will stop once I have that mortgage and kids, but honestly looking forward to it, tired of looking at my house savings just sitting there and after 11 years of active duty moving around ready to call something my own.

I have two kids/ car seats and it works. Just did a road trip from Tahoe to salt lake and it was fine. Would a tundra be more comfortable.. sure but I am okay with the trade off because I like the smaller size of the Tacoma for daily driving and trails.

This thread title is awesome. It illustrates the concern a person or people have about trends. When a lot of people are selling their tacomas, it might be an indicator that it is time for the flock to switch obsessions. This is why it’s important to stay updated on these things. Who knows what the next thing will be, but it’s threads like these that keep a lot of you in the “know”. I wish you all safe travels ASAFP.

For me personally I traded simply because I came to terms with the fact that I was never using my truck for truck stuff anymore. When I had my F150 and was still living at home in the country it got used ALL the time. Stuff for my parents property, helping friends move, picking up firewood etc.

Having lived in an apartment in the city for a couple of years now, coupled with the bed on the Tacoma being quite small with the tonneau cover it just wasn’t fitting my needs in anymore.

With the 4Runner, anything dirty (tents, tools etc) gets strapped to the Prinsu rack. Inside it can be more comfortable for moving people around, or I can fold down the seats and treat it like a single cab pickup with a canopy.

My girlfriend and I are hoping to purchase property, animals etc in the next 5-7 years, at that point I’ll likely buy a used extra cab Tundra for truck stuff.

With that said, I don’t think there’s any doubt that the Tacoma is the most versatile option of the three, not to mention the fact that the 3rd Gen is hands down the best looking truck on the road. That’s one great thing about the 4Runner, you don’t have a bunch of jealous, insecure little bitches going “EHHGHHGHHB 4TH GEN IS BETTER WEHHH.” Seriously, f*ck all you jealous butthurt second gen idiots with nothing better to do than come in here and try to convince people that the truck they bought with their hard earned cash sucks. You’re pathetic. Thx 4 coming 2 my TED talk.

Some of us get hit by "corndog karen's"...well in my case it was exactly that. I was forced to make a decision I didn't want to make.

Most of those people own ski boats, campers, utility trailers, dirtbikes, mtn bikes, weekend hustles that need a bed, etc. So your stance is that they should own a truck/suv and a corolla for DD duties so that you feel better when you see them in traffic? I have a small commuter car but thats cause I can wrench on my own stuff so I get them cheap, most people have to choose one vehicle that can provide them with transport and also allow them to do their hobbies that keep them sane after a long work week.

More than one kid and I'd tend to agree. For us, we only have one and we have one of the slimmer Diono Radian car seats in the middle position in the rear seat. She LOVES riding in daddy's truck b/c the rear seat sits up so high compared to the front and she has a birdseye view of the road ahead vs. mom's CRV. Would she love a 4Runner even more? Probably, but the Taco works well for us. We still take it on most trips - as most of our road trips are to places to camp, bike, paddle and the Taco is far better equipped to haul all of our gear and keep the dirty stuff outside the cab.

I am single and absolutely love my AC MT OR ("Only available in Canada you say? (sips tea)....Pity" --apologies to Red Rose Tea).

I will be keeping my Taco 10 years + unless I am somehow enticed into trading for a future Taco with light hybrid AND MT.

The 3.5 V6 has plenty of power, you just have to run it up past 3500 RPMs. Climbing hills at around 4000 RPM I can actually feel a surge in power.
