I should mention I don't do my own alignments, there's a shop in town that specializes in 4wd Toyotas with an alignment rack and I usually take it there. I do have adjustability with my SPCs but I've never had to adjust them, they're able to get me at 3.5˚ caster without touching the SPCs. Though I'm starting to think that might be pushing it a bit too much.

I'll have to find my last printout because with that much caster I remember my camber was around 1.3˚ or so...still in the green but not by much iirc.

I don't either. I did one time and got damn close to spec, but it was kind of a pita.
wish I had the SPC's for that adjustability. Then i'd definitely run those cam eliminator kits.
Been also contemplating taking it to a 4wd specialty place that could get me a better alignment. The firestone i've been going to hasn't been able to get my passenger side to anything over 3 deg of caster so my tires rub much worse on that side.

At least they're trying I guess, the Firestone I used to go to wouldn't listen if you tried to ask for something specific. Glad I don't go there anymore. The $130 it costs at the 4wd shop is worth every penny every time compared to the Firestone we have around here

yea true. there's one guy there that seems to know what he's doing, but I still feel like it could be better. At least they listen to what I ask for in my alignment.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I (finally) found a shop that does a good alignment. I did the Firestone, and Big O, Americas Tire etc and they all sucked. Seems like they all want to just turn and burn and most of all... they wont listen to what we want.

When I found the shop, believe it or not, it was a little mom and pop shop in our little town. The kind of shop that has one alignment rack and 2 roll up doors. Jose does all the repairs, and his wife does the books.

But the thing is... he knows his shit, and he will listen to what I was saying. And I know he knows his shit, because he asked the right questions when I was explaining what I was looking for, he gave me exactly what I asked, and he was sure to give me the print out with the numbers.

It took a while to find a good shop, but I think it'll be well worth it going forward.

Found a wrecked SRunner today, the guy wants $3500 for the 3.4 with supercharger, trans, rear end, and harness.. Another $500 if I want the seats too, even with the driver side bent! $4500 takes the entire thing.

Pondering... not sure if I want to get into this swap now or the level of effort, I do have other vehicular projects I am trying to keep going too.

    Thoughts from the "world"?!

At that price IMO just buy a turbo or TRD supercharger for ur 2.4 L and just use that. Too much work getting into that but all on u homie.

nearly 1k cheaper and it's brand new

with a turbo u can just tune and keep everything stock until bout 7 psi. After that then u gotta consider injectors and all that jazz

Hard to say without knowing the condition of the engine and supercharger. Mileage?
If I were looking to do an engine swap I wouldn't want one from a wrecked truck that had a supercharger on it, I'd want an N/A engine and then supercharge it myself. If his wasn't setup properly there could be headaches coming your way putting in an engine with a lot of boosted miles on it.

If you're after the supercharger maybe see if he'll sell that to you separately. I'd look for a great deal on it too unless it's got low mileage on it or a recent rebuild. Otherwise I'd just save up for a new one

The s-runner has the seats everyone lusts after though right?

    Thanks for your input,

I am with you for the most part and I like to keep the truck light weight too, but the darn power adders are not quite legal for smog in California for my 2002 (up to 2001 is fine sadly).. The supercharger with low boost is really quick to remove and install though (basically a manifold and a pulley). :spy:

The 3.4 with s/c is grandfathered into emissions since it was a factory option these years.. and of course can make more power without additional tuning as far as I know.

160k miles and stock engine with supercharger from the factory. He will not separate anything but the full power train. The lust worthy seats only get separated if I buy the power train too... and the driver seat is bent and does not slide forward or back. No tears, just dirty! The supercharger alone is a pricey item, this includes an ecm, tranny, and the rear end as well.

    Hmmmm....

The super charger isn't from the factory. It would have been the same dealer installed option you could get on just about any 3.4 in the years it was available.

No Tacoma has a "Factory Installed" supercharger.
