My local cycle gear has a very small selection unfortunately. And there’s not a lot of other bike shops near. I’m just hoping for a good fit on this one!

You could check out DelAmo Motorsports in Redondo Beach. They might have something like that closer to you, but this is right close-ish. You could try stuff on from different manufacturers and see what fits and what doesn't. Then shop online if you find it cheaper. I think they do price matching, but I cant remember off the top of my head so that could be an option. I could meet you there this weekend.

Ordering online is just frustrating for me. I have a weird size so I just get tired of having to return everything all the time when it doesn’t fit

There’s actually a Del amo off the 55 on my way home. Always forget about them. I’ll check them out this weekend

Maybe I’ll just ride to Del amo after work for my ride today. That wouldn’t be a bad option either haha

Any motorrad dealer nearby? Try on a few of their jackets and not the size the see if you can cross reference the metric size to standard. The BMW dealer near me didn’t have much of a selection but I found a 54 that fits me perfectly and use that as my baseline. I got the rallye jacket and pants in with the bike and I love that jacket. Even in 35* with a sweatshirt I’m plenty comfortable. It’s got front vents, arm vents and a back vent I open up in the afternoon on the ride home. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll fit the Harley theme

its frustrating, but I also dont have the selection near me. There's a Cycle Gear, but its very small. I dont trust the Bilt brand that they have.

I havent found anything wrong with Amazon. Also when you order from an amazon retailer, the $ goes back to your gift card balance, and it kinda locks you in..

In my experience, the vast majority of liter bike riders can't utilize that power, especially these new bikes that are getting 200+ HP. I've been riding R6's at road race tracks for several years and can whoop up on most of the guys that show up on 1000s, and there are still guys on 300s that will waste me. Rider skill is a much bigger factor than horsepower.

People think that because there are options for 600s or 1000s, that means 600s are "little bikes". It really isn't true, they're race thoroughbreds with enough power to beat practically any $100k car in a straight line.

@uhplifted honestly I think like have the motorsport industry has a HQ in the huntington beach area

there is no way you only have 2 or 3 stores that stock things where you can walk in and try stuff on

on another note: more parts for my little xr50 build came in

Never heard of motorrad. I’m gonna try the Del Amo like @GHOST SHIP said. That place is huge, so they have to have something that’ll fit.

I just don’t like buying clothes online unless I have previous items from that brand and know they fit. It’s just a pain in the ass to get something, doesn’t fit, send it back.
Ya fuck that. That’s why I live where I live!
I’ve looked shit up, there’s really not a lot of stores. There’s some small specialty shops and that’s it. There’s more stuff out in corona area but I’m not driving there. There’s literally nothing to do there and then I just sit in traffic. Hard pass. And just because they have a HQ doesn’t mean they have product ;)

Thanks for the insight. I can absolutely see that happening, you can probably push yourself harder on a 600 with your skills than the guys on liter bikes can feel comfortable pushing. A 300 was my other option to the SV650 but given the price point the 300's are just too close to 600's to justify buying the smaller bike and not being able to resell as well as a 600 would. the SV650 I can get for around $1500 with low miles is hard to beat. I know the SV650 has a very mild powerband compared to a CBR or R6 and doesn't come close to the power of those which is what I want for a first sport bike

I wish I knew :( With how urbanized the area is it's hard to find good spots. I'm starting to think a bigger trip is the only way to get out of the city to the good roads.
