I average about 390-400 a tank full before filling up.

320 to the low gas light, usually fill then but knowing I have at least 3 gallons left in the tank I am pretty confident I could take it to 370 and still have a few drops to spare.

19-20 mpg even with the RRT. Very mellow driving though.

    417 miles per tank.

Mine is a MT, stock tires, stock suspension, w/ front air dam; but I am a bit heavy footed.
At 19.4 mpg and a 21.5 gallon tank means an average 417.1 miles per tank. (Key in on the word average, some tanks go farther and some not so far.)

I got that 19.4 mpg figure from a total of 460 gls used in 8900 miles. (32 refills at about 14.4 gls each)
My best single tank burn was 23.8 mpg on a x-cntry FL to GA; empty. I went 369 mi on 15.5 gls. So, at that rate, a full tank would've taken me out for 511.8 miles.
(My worst was 10.6 mpg. :anonymous:)

Oddly enough, also a x-cntry to FL from GA (I've only done that twice in 2 years). But this time I was loaded with furniture for my daughter. Don't know the weight, but the bed was full.
I got 10.6 and 13.6 going down heavy and 17.5 coming back empty.

Never really calculated but lets see:
I fill-up every 2 weeks at pay day.
39 miles per day round trip, 50/50 local and freeway.
390 miles every 2 weeks and a bit more like 10-15 miles.
    Fill-up is about 18-19 gal.

Updated at 2.5 years in... get about 20 if I'm driving easy and not going 80 on the freeway. if I'm driving like I "need/ want" to, then I'm getting about 18.5. If I am pulling our ski boat, it drops to about 15. That's with 4x4 DCLB, with slightly bigger tires than stock.

When I adjust for my tire size difference, me doing the gallons/ mileage calculations comes out mostly EXACTLY the same as the computer trip meter on the truck.

260-280 consistently. Don’t care though. Smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon. You guys are thinking about this wrong.

I find it very hard to believe some of you guys are getting 400 miles to a tank. I mean, if you go like 55-60 mph on a flat hwy the whole time, i could see that. But city/mixed driving there is no way.

My truck is stock and i drive normal, not too fast and not too slow. I can do 300-320 but thats mixed driving, all hwy maybe i could squeeze out 400 miles.

The guys who get 400 miles get 24-25 mpgs, no way to achieve that in the city or mixed driving.

Stock TRD off road driving on hills between 65-75 locked in 5th gear most of the time. I get around 17-18. If I go into 6th and cruise on flatter ground, its closer to 21. I have no idea how people get such high numbers.

We use fuelly to track ours, but we recently put larger tires on the truck, and didn't think about it before we started recording our mpg as usual, so I think our mileage is probably a bit off. We need to find a different method. I don't think it's terribly off though; we fill up a lot, and @Slashaar is a little more aggressive with the acceleration than I am.

It depends on a lot of factors though. How you drive is always going to be a big one. I tend to find driving against strong winds in either vehicle will cause the mpg to go down a bit, if you weigh it down with aftermarket parts, anything like that can all create subtle changes that add up.

If I was terribly worried about mpg, we definitely wouldn't have bought a truck. That's why I drive a Corolla; if we aren't camping I try to drive the fuel sipper during trips as much as possible. Off-sets that cost a bit.
