Looking to get rid of my Tacoma and have no need for the OV Tune. Just wondering if anyone else has sold one of the kits and what a good asking price would be? and also what the buyer would have to do to make it work. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would think once you installed the software on the Tacoma that you can't remove and take it with you. Isn't it registered to the VIN locked ECU? If you have to buy another license, you are probably going to pay, what 80% or more of the original cost??? Surely someone has been down this path and can provide the answer

    I've seen 225-300.

The hardware can be reused. The tune is what the new owner has to pay for through OVTuned.

So, what do you actually get if buying an OVTune from somebody that has already installed it since you would need to buy a new license? Just the Tactrix cable?

I would assume that's it. I was one of the first so I have the dongle kit but that's just a small USB dongle(nano receiver size) and the tactrix cable.

That's what I thought, but didn't know for sure.

The Tactrix cable can be obtained directly from Tactrix for $169 + $10 shipping, so that's why I asked. As far as I know (purely assumption, as I have not really researched this), all I need is the cable and an OV Tune license and I could put the OV Tune on my truck? Is that right?

That I don't know. Is he having them special made to meet certain specs for the tune being that there is no dongle now?

    $325

Return the truck to stock and then you can sell it I believe. You are better off just reaching out to OVTune support and get your info right from the source.

I just sent an email to OV Tune asking the question. I'll report back when I hear something.

There was a time up to not long ago when you could buy the Tactrix separately and the flash software for a reduced cost. That was ended and OVT only supports new licenses with the orange version of the Tactrix.

If a flash kit with a gray Tactrix can be traced to an original purchaser, then I believe that you can still get a license without a problem.
