    This ^^^ FTW!

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather be a little uncomfortable, or lose a mpg or two with an E rated tire. Do I tow a lot? No, I rarely tow. Do I feel better knowing that it's safer for me, and others around me on the road if I need to max it out when I do? Yes, absolutely.

If the added strength of an E rated tire is in the sidewall, doesn't it make sense then, this should be a consideration if you off road and air down? Especially on a tire like a skinny that has such a tall sidewall?

I wonder if the tire manufacturers know what their doing  and they are protecting us from ourselves :bananadead:

I would never run anything less than a E rated tire. Like you said it’s nice to have the peace of mind knowing you don’t have to worry going down an FSR.

I am interested in what people running skinnies on their 2.7L have to say. stock size is 245/75r16 and i want some more height even if it’s not much, to save mpg’s.

Got my Hankook Dynapro AT2 245/75R17 put on this week as well as my new wheels. No rubbing on stock suspension for an SR5 :)

I’m thinking about getting these tires for my truck. Any chance you could post additional pictures or first impressions?

In my experience, the narrower tire feels more flexy when cornering and not in a good way when comparing an SL255/75/17and an SL285/70/17. The wider tire feels more planted and you can corner harder. The wider tire also feels more stable when aired down low and on off-camber sections of trail. I snow wheel a lot and for that reason I won't go skinny (wider is better in deep snow) but in certain cases skinny is better but like everything, there are pros and cons. Gotta find what works best for your driving conditions.

Yeah sure, I'm no tire expert but there is no more noise than the stock tires. They have been great so far, although all I have been doing is driving around town. They look much nicer than the stock tires though. Any particular pictures or information you are looking for?

The noise is certainly something I'm concerned about. I'm also curious about how they'll perform in rain and snow, but that is obviously much more difficult to test.

I want a tire that looks more aggressive but the reality is that I spend 99.9% of my time on the road.

Yeah that is pretty much what I was looking for too and this is what I settled on. It hasn't rained or snowed here since I got them so that is TBD but I will report back.

I'm torn between 265/75R16 and 255/85R16 for my "18 Tacoma Off-Road. Keeping stock wheels, installing CBI front bumper and OME front suspension to level. Someone talk me out of getting SKINNIES !

Also, anybody happen to have a side by side comparison of those two options???

Right on man. Mind if I ask your suspension setup and what wheels you are running? Also what tire did you go with?
