Is the test tune OK to run on 87 octane? I see 91 in the description

you can use 87, you may get some initial knock until octane learning makes adjustments

Sounds good for the testers. I don't care for updates, I prefer finished products even for $1000. One flash and done, that's my goal.

Out of pure curiosity, why is rev limit set so high? I'd imagine spun bearings being up in revs all the time. But guys around here banging it to redline every day have proved me wrong! Lol

Ok cool. You'll likely wait 10+ years, or have a flash that doesnt have everything done as good as can be.

The only reason we ask people to test (voluntarily) is so we can get independent feedback to make the best we can.

People are still finding better ways to tune 90s Honda's, 25 years later.

I am curious... why only have one ECU configuration test the new tune?

To verify things are working as expected before spending time writing all the tunes

Some people don't understand the difference between an agile and a waterfall approach to development. This really is probably somewhere between the two, but I much rather be realizing increasing value incrementally, as well as reducing risk with frequent updates rather than long delays between updates. Honestly the way things go with this project should be encouraging to people who are on the fence. I have the device but still haven't tuned, but that's because I'm pretty damn lazy.

Because the engine makes power up there.

And 6900 rpm is the Stock rev limit on the Camry with same engine. Toyota neutered the limit for the tacoma.

    Hey, Mat.

Super early, but the tune loaded and drove great on a tank of pure Costco 87. No one bit of hesitation or pings. The idle was a touch rough at the end of the 5min idle, but it was steady. After that, it was smooth.

    Drove like a champ.

More with miles, but I'm happy!

    it’s got octane learning.
