    Out of curiosity how come you guys don't have a keyed lock on the tailgate? My 3rd gen SR has one that uses the same as the drivers key (no remote unlock on mine).

    hi there guys- I have a 2008 TRD Sport. i've looked through this and am interested. scanned about 10 pages or so and see installed pics but what exactly is involved in the install process? does it come with instructions? do I need some extra "security screw"? sorry for the questions but want to have things lined up before buying and then fumbling with it when it arrives. Thanks.

    It's very simple,
    1. Paint ATD
    2. Remove factory T40 torx screw
    3. Slip on the ATD
    4. Put Factory T40 torx back on. (or the T45 tamper proof optional screw that's offered.)
    5. Enjoy your secured tailgate

    I used to offer white and silver but there was issues so they only come in raw metal, if you dont paint it, it will rust.

    I would recommend getting a longer bolt. The one you remove will work but you're lucky to get 2 turns til you're out of threads. I went with a 30mm bolt. Thread size/pitch is M8 x 1.25. IMG_20200313_160323783.jpg
