Are you talking about the bed light kit or the bed cargo light on the cab? Either way I don’t think it matters. I have both and the harness for the tailgate lock goes through a grommet under the passenger seat that is not used (it’s plugging an empty hole).

The bed light taps into the tail light. The tailgate lock taps into the front passenger panel. They are mutually exclusive. OEM parts don’t need to cut any wires for either installations. Plug and play.

No issues. As I said, I have both. Good luck.

Found a dealer that was happy to do the work. 2020 AG TRD Pro with bed lights from the factory.

They ordered the part # listed here from Toyota and installed it this morning while I waited.

$169 for the part, one hour at standard labor rate, plus sales tax, $300 even out the door installed. Worth it to me, if anything ever goes wrong with it, they installed it and they can deal with it.

Very clean install, you'd have no idea it was added later. Looks factory, even where it feeds into the tailgate with the camera wiring.

Works great, glad I had it added, much more convenient.

I installed mine today on my 2019 OR Access Cab. I didn't receive any instructions so this was very helpful. Thanks! The whole install took about an hour and was mostly zip tying stuff.

Not hard at all. The pictures in the instructions aren't the best but I don't really think there's anything you can mess up.

After reading this thread in my spare time, the OEM kit is the best so I get that. I need someone to confirm that the OEM part number for my 2018 DCLB is PK-36B-35JLO. I'm slightly confused, lol so work with me. Also if I add the bed lights from the dealer whats that part number and that's plug and play as well. Someone please save me some time from re reading the posts and searching all day. I don't mind doing the search but I want to order this morning from my local dealer so I can have to install this weekend.

I’m not sure on the lighting but PK-36B-35JLO is correct for the tailgate lock kit.

Awesome, it will be at my dealer tomorrow. I paid $130 with tax so I guess that not a bad deal. I got it at employee cost.

That’s a great deal from your local dealer! My dealer wouldn’t fold. Only got 10% off MSRP for loyal customer. Oh well, I didn’t want to wait from online dealer...

    All the things!
Not related to the tailgate kit. Look farther inboard and there is another unused port for entry into the cab.

I just ordered two kits one for my dclb and the other for my son's dcsb. Shit this gets expensive do two trucks identical on all the mods, lifts, Clazzios, wheels tires, TRD this and TRD that. So to speed things up a little is there a video on the OEM kit install? I have seen the other videos.

The plastic cover is just a gravel guard for a couple of large electrical connectors.
