They are the old Gamma Goats that the Army and Marines bought back in the '70s. Total crap. Constant maintenance, leaked like sieves, noisy to the point where you could barely hear the radio (military radio) if you were in the cab. These replaced the Jeeps in many units to eventually be replaced themselves by diesel 3/4 ton trucks. I saw one air dropped once that had a parachute failure - bounced 5 times, throwing pieces on each impact, before it died on the drop zone.

That thing won't swim though. The Gamma Goat will...as long as you remembered to replace the drain plugs.

I believe the sport and limited are the only trucks with color matched bumpers front and rear. But I could be wrong.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
And yet everyday I see landscapers and contractors with loaded beds pulling loaded trailers.
Especially 4 cylinders with loaded beds.

Ok, well, do what you gotta do. I love my 4banger, think it’s the best truck around. But limits are a thing. I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it FOR you.

No need to explain work trucks to me.
I seem to understand them better than you.

Use your truck for work? It’s a work truck.

I see plenty of king ranch F-350’s and giant ass Dodge duallies that [while capable] have never and likely will never be work trucks. They’re oftentimes status symbols and/or tools to make the driver feel better about their shortcomings. Hell, maybe some of them just like paying mortgage prices for rapidly depreciating assets :notsure:

On the flip-side, I often see Tacomas, (older) Rangers, Frontiers etc. with contractor racks and tools loaded up running around getting it done. I’ll be honest, when I see a giant pickup without either DOT numbers, a logo on the door, or a trailer behind it I laugh a little to myself.

The street I live on is full of bros with lifted dually trucks. It's really obnoxious. The only trucks on the street that seem to do any work are a pair of tacos and a first gen two-wheel drive frontier.

It’s a problem all over the US and parts of Canada. Right alongside the soccer moms (or dads) with a kid or two driving a Suburban/Expedition or any other 3-row SUV. American’s love their size I guess.....
