    Thanks guys. I cleaned it all off with a scotch brite pad really well, then put 2 coats of 3M rubberized undercoat, then 2 coats of satin black paint. Then I waited until it was a bit tacky, and used a new scotch brite pad to give it a nice even texture, and when that was dry I hit it with 2 coats of semi-gloss clear coat...

    The TRD symbol I got off eBay for $3.99.
