I've used outside rescue, just never when I had a winch. Hence why every 4wd now gets one.

My personal best, I was checking on fences at the ranch by myself about 3 hr's from home when I sank a 93' F-350 4x4 CCLB to the bumpers in a pasture. 100' of steel cable on winch. Nearest anchor point aprox 130' away. Utilized winch all but last wrap on the drum plus three 20' logging chains to reach anchor. 6 1/2 hrs of winching, digging and praying before it came out.

About the only time I've been so stuck even a winch didn't help was in the winter in a friends truck. His family had a bunch of property and they had trails we ran often. Well we had a bunch of storms and cold so we decided to got out messing around. We were going through an area where there were deep ruts, didn't realize that the ice had formed in this area and all 4 wheels went down in. Tried for hours. Ended up having to leave it there and walk back out. We planned to get the tractor and use it to help but it was so cold the thing wouldn't start. Luckily we had my truck also so we drove out there close enough to get stuff out of the stuck truck and just left it there till some of the ice melted so we could get it out.

Imho if you can get it the warn is darn reliable so is mile marker. I had a smittybilt it never let me down now I’m running a badlands 12k haven’t used it yet but just roll/unrolling the line a bit feels like a dang monster.
When it burns out getting a warn.

Oh, don't know whether I ever updated on the tractor hydraulic situation but I have it working again. Turns out there is a proportioning screw that controls the flow to the front hydraulics. Somehow the screw got turned about 3/4 closed. Opened said screw and boom, hydraulics work like advertised. Yay me!

What cruise ship people? There are probably 10s of thousands on cruises or just coming off cruises.

Maybe it will drive prices down so I can book cheap. It’s already made mortgages cheaper and supposedly gas.
