I haven’t been able to find a thread or discussion on this.
Anyone running a wheel with a 5.5 back spacing and larger tires? Say around a 285/70/17 or in my case a 265/70/18?
    32.5”x11-12”width....
The back spacing is my primary question, not if and what it takes to fit the tires.
    Thank you.

That will more than likely be too much. Will have interference issue with the uca. I’d go no more than 5” and than can still be an issue depending on tire choice.

Yea . What the cat hater said. I'm running stock wheels with +24mm offset and my 255s rub the UCAs at full lock. So you're gonna want something with less positive offset

That is my concern. Seems like 4.5 is more common

    4.5 is the sweet spot

Unfortunately I bought the wheels for my 2007 a month before I decided to buy a 2019 and never intended to change the tire size. Now I’m stuck with new wheels and the itch to go big or go home.

Since the 265 is only 10.4 wide maybe? But I bet it’s close.

I wonder if my question fits here. I have a set of mesa rtx rims I believe they are a +10 offset at 17”. I too want larger than stock tires.

I have 5100s and ome 887 up front and 1” in the rear. I also have spidertrax 1.25 which I can use.

what tire would I be able to run? 275/70/17
    Or 285/70/17?

How wide are they and do you know the backspacing?
Here are some photos with the 5.5” backspace. I’ll be going to 265/70/18 in a few months and am pretty confident they will fit as I currently have over an inch of gap between sidewall and UCA. I have aftermarket UCAs now though.

    They are 9” wide.
When I measure I’m getting the following numbers.

    Centre line 131.76 MM
    Back spacing 136.52MM

Am I doing the math right to say it would be a positive 5 offset? Only number stamped in the rim close to 5 is 10. That’s why was guessing 10.

+5 offset seems reasonable. 136.52mm is about a 5.25” backspace.

I’d test fit a 275/70/17 and see how that works for you. That’s my opinion

So I keep trying to find this answer for myself and your thread came up. I have lifted my 2017 limited with 2" spacers for front and toy tec AAl in rear. I am looking to buy 265/70/18 wildpeaks and run them on my stock rims. Will I be ok?

You should be. I just got mine installed 2 weeks ago and have no rubbing. Our wheel offsets are a little different, but most likely you will clear.
As you probably read, each truck is a little different, which is what makes it hard. But I just don’t see this size being an issue with a little lift.

ok thanks. I just really dont want to run wheel spacers. So I keep debating to go with 255/70/18 or 265/70/18 on the stock 18" rims. I just dont want to buy them. Have them shipped to my house. Then they dont fit. Thanks for your input.

I believe your stock wheels are further from the UCA then mine. The UCA shouldn’t be a problem. Just don’t know if the Cab Mount will be in the way(assuming the wheel is further from the UCA).
If you have a good shop to work with, they will help and the prices are usually on par with anything online.

there is plenty of room between current size and cab. I dont see it being a problem. I just worry about there not being much room between the UCA and the tire with it currently being tight!!!

Actually. Looks like it is the same offset.
