The difference in stance may be why you’re almost stronger standard. Pull from 18 with your standard stance. You’re training two different stances for the same movement, seems counterproductive.

You’re obviously at a much higher level in your sport than I am mine, and while the premise of “being strong” is the same, they’re vastly different. I just don’t understand why you’d change your stance like that just because you’re pulling from blocks.

Because as I said before its a very different movement and setup than a standard deadlift.

I can't generate the off the block power with the narrow stance. I also have to point my toes and knees out more. The reason my 18in isn't as strong is because it's basically pulling from my weak/sticking point. That exact spot is where I hit my slow point on a normal heavy pull.

If you haven't pulled from 18in (not rack pull) than you won't really understand how it "feels" different. It's just an odd lift.

i typically dont ever do situps alone (except when i do my 2minFT). I do hanging leg raises, planks, pushups, twists, bicycle kicks, and other compound lifts that I think have been helping my core quite a bit. I like to think all of my situps and core work go together to make for a stronger core. I am also not looking for washboard abs, i just want to be stronger in general, and I know core strength will help me get there.

shrug. i am a newb though.

Do more squats. Breath and brace properly and your core will be rock solid. Everything else you listed is just for show. It’s what “influencers” post to show off their abs but it’s not how to you build or develop a strong core.

They do suck. I was sad as fuck when the standard DL’s were 4x2 and the stupid snatch grips were 3x5 at the same weight. They are my least favorite workout for sure though

I still have yet to use a deadlift bar... curious what the difference would be, if any.

I’ve gotten to the point in PT where I’m on the bike. Unfortunately the seat is jacked up so high its not comfortable.
After 5 minutes me knee loosens up enough where I could move the pedals fast enough for the thing to register I was on it lol.

Goals are to get into the gym Saturday morning and start going in a few days a week.

I was told by the surgeon hes probably going to clear me in a month for strength work. I should be more excited but I’m to the point where I’m more concerned with being able to sit in a chair normally and sleep without my leg propped up on pillows lol.
    Funny how priorities change.
