Installed this weekend, both lights and switch work flawlessly. Love that I’m set up for the v5 side markers. Having large hands made running wires inside the door less than ideal, but worth it in the end

Why did you not ground it when installing? It would have added like not even 3 minutes

I was doing several projects today - sound deadening, new speakers, puddle lights, new door handles and I rigged everything up but haven’t mounted the switch in the console yet. It’s just sitting on the floor for now.

Just want to say thanks to everyone who added to this thread. I was able to go through it and fix a couple things without asking while installing my puddle lights. Between the youtube video by onix and the instructions that Meso sends....I'll add my 3 lessons learned. Use a 3/4 inch extension or something like it to push the boot out from the inside for the door wiring. Remove the speaker for straight access to the wiring hose. Remove garnish clips from corner window trim and install on the trim before reinstalling! now I have 3 clips sitting somewhere I can't reach them. lol. Next step for me is to figure out why my driver side isn't turning on, but I already kinda know....The wires popped out of the housing on the male terminal and I need to make sure I have the wires in correctly and in order. Or, maybe the pins got bent...all this I learned from this thread! After that....time to add the anytime on/off switch, but only after I get my new left console panel. wooohoo...damn you MESO...I hate you, but I love you! hahahaha. Then, gotta add the thin fin and 3rd brake light.

Good tips! I learned the hard way too to take the trim clips out and install on the trim piece :annoyed: I have taken my panels off several times between this project and replacing my door handles so I lost enough that I just bought a pack of them off Amazon.

Almost forgot! Just use a wire hangar with tape to pull the meso connector through, (push the wire hangar through first, then tape it up with the connecter and pull). It's easier to pull the wire back instead of pushing it forward....it doesn't take much.

Fixed! The wires had pulled out of the housing again. Some electric tape and all good now.
Driver side working like a charm.

Yeah there is definitely a black hole vortex in that door panel near the mirror.

THIS. This was the issue, super easy fix and now everything works like a charm.

Note for anyone thinking about getting an Expedition Essentials TPAM - while I absolutely LOVE the mount it makes getting into your dash, for mods like these, an actual project and not just a few simple tugs at the trim.

If someone who installed their switch by the left side cubby has a picture of what they used to ground it... that would be much appreciated.

exactly where I grounded mine to, just snipped the supplied grounding ring and bent it slightly to get it to fit.

I grounded mine here , don’t have an actual pic. But it’s the left bolt to the lower airbag circled in red.
