If you find a spare ticket, lemme know and I'll go.

If you ever find yourself in Seattle though, the Sounders games are out of this world. Closest to a Euro game I have ever witnessed here in the states.

    Anyone go backpacking?

I've not gone out in a long, long time. It's one of those things I want to do but never get out. Kinda like taking my truck out.

 Did you even have to ask? I don't go as much now that I made my mobile base camp. Plus mountain biking lets you go a lot farther than hiking in the same amount of time.

Whatever you do, backpacking Buckskin Gulch east of Kanab in late July is not a good idea. Ask me how I know.

    Will do.

I am hoping this wheelin trip will help me make the decision on if I am ready to sell the taco in order to fund another build (Gladiator). Ill probably get flamed for mentioning that on this form, but you all are cool peeps. I have a couple of reasons why a gladiator might be a fun build..

    - Can fit 35's or 37's without any cutting of the fenders or body. You can even fit a 35 under the bed! I heard an aird down 37 will also fit.
    - You don't have to get the $$ rubicon edition. You can customize a sport S version to be in the high 30's and still have the same gears/ axles as the rubicon version (minus factory lockers). (I would re-gear and add lockers one day, so its a wash)
    - It would be nice to have an Auto. Anytime we take the taco anywhere, I have to drive since the wife isn't comfortable driving manuals.
    - Might be moving to the pacific north west in a couple of years. It would be nice to have something a little narrower than the taco.
    - I feel like I can run 35's and a 2" lift and have it out wheel my long travel taco. Not trashing my taco, its just the solid axle/ 4-link rigs have better articulation right out of the gate. I had to spend $12K in suspension to get the same amount of articulation as a traditional 4-link.
    - Its a unique Jeep-truck. I have always wanted a Comanche.
    - Taking the doors/ top off is cool. I always liked riding around in my dad's CJ5 with no doors or top back in the day.
    - I feel the reliability wont be an issue. The pentstar Petrol engine is in alot of vehicles without any issue. Now, don't get me started on the Eco diesel that the wranglers have. That engine is a POS.

I do have to say that riding with no roof and your left flipflop on the running board is a great feeling.

The only issue with this is that a Jeep is a Chrysler product. No bueno! Otherwise, all good.

LOL. It would be my first 'new' Chrysler product. Half of my family is either Jeep or Toyota. My dad has his 2001 long travel tundra (which I hope to inherit someday, its built similarly to my taco) and he also has a 2009 JK wrangler on 37's. My father in law also has a 91 XJ, that is pretty fun to drive due to the short wheelbase. It is definitely a different animal driving something on 37's or something non toyota. I honestly hate the styling of other Chrysler vehicles, especially passenger cars.

At this point I am doing my homework to see if it is a wise decision. If you set aside the 'non toyota' aspect, it might be a pretty decent rig for what I would use it for. The Gladiator Sport S with the max tow option will give you factory gearing of 4:10's, which is sufficient to run 33's from the factory (No rubbing/lift/ trimming required either). Also, the transfer case low range is 2.72:1. My transfer case in the taco is like 2.53:1. It also has like a 7000lb towing capacity and rear disc brakes (I don't tow, so this is a mute point).

The more I compare, the more I like the idea. The only down side I see is the 10" longer wheelbase over the taco. A set of full belly skids would be one of the first purchases. But, I could throw a set of 35's (and no lift) on it and solve the belly rubbing issues. Also, since I don't tow, I would remove the factory trailer hitch. That would gain a couple of degrees of departure angle.

Definitely not a vehicle that is for everyone. The only reason I am interested in it is due to the solid axle and it being a 'mid size pickup' from the factory. No other manufacturer offers this here in America. Now if I could get my hands on a FJ79 series dual cab pickup, I would scrap the Gladiator idea. But, that would require me moving to Australia... (not a bad choice either).

Anyone know where I might be able to find an entire short bed tacoma truck bed locally? Doesn't matter what color, but white would be preferred.
IDK, I might hold off ffor Toyota to introduce the new "4x4 oriented" Land Cruiser before selling the truck. Then again, I think that's 2 years from now at the earliest if I remember right.

I totally get where you're coming from. All the signs point in that direction, which is why they are popular on the trails. I'm just saying that at the end of the day, it's still a Chrysler (Fiat for that matter) product.

Yes, a Land Cruiser would be nice.
