Yeah, I saw the thread with the $3500-firm price so I watched it. Posted last Friday, sold Monday. I mean it had those extras with it and some maintenance parts (oil, belts etc) but still. Couldn’t believe it myself.

Not with the 7th injector, those kits go for nearly $1,000 brand new. But depending on it's condition it still seems a little steep

Did you ever use the software to dial your 7th back in? I was pretty sure I gave the VM to you, but if you still need it lemme know.

Speaking of pre runners for scorching deals, I got this one for $1200. 270k KM’s on it. Around 160 k miles? The guy and his wife told me they had 100+ phone calls in 15 minutes of the ad going up. I was first! And the look on their faces when I drove away was hilarious! It needed a MAF sensor, front O2 sensor, and the frame has some issues. I could tell they were expecting me to turn around and ask for my money back!!:D

That's crazy low priced. Might be the cheapest price I've seen paid for a running, driving double cab tacoma

It well could be. And it drives beautiful now. It's getting a 4x conversion shortly, and becoming the wheeling rig.

And man, did I get offers from people when I showed it off on IG and local groups. All lowball of course:luvya:

Haven't attempted it yet I'm afraid, you did send me a link to the Windows VM though awhile back yes. Between that and the exact 7th injector maps I received from another member with the same setup as me, I should be able to get it where I want it.

Its been better since I learned to keep my RPMs at 2500 at least to avoid ping under load when I hit boost. Since I got used to that I've been revving out each gear longer to keep RPMs from falling below 2500 when I upshift. The custom maps another user sent me should give me a little more leeway there though

I got mine fore $600 bucks. Just needed rebuilt. Then I spent all the monies on getting the parts to mount and use it. So total was around 1200ish.

    Nice.

I passed on a black 03 Limited TRD with sun roof and a TRD blower for $4500. Had 330k on it. Was in clean shape though. So...much....regret.

    Should have grabbed it.

Man, the Xtracab I bought to replace the 00 pos with has sunroof, SR5 interior, all the goodies. It's the exact truck that I had in 98, and was exactly what I wanted. Then the wifey turned down the dc. The lack of sunroof may get to me yet. I'll see after this summers wheeling.

I might just keep both. There's always justification for a couple trucks, right?

Nice! How many years ago though? I’ve been watching these things pop up on TW for a few years and the trend seems to be people are wanting more and more for them.

Almost like they see them for $3K on Magnuson’s website and think their 20 year old blower with 250K and no rebuild is worth somewhere near that.

You gotta look on FB market and Craigs too.

An SC listed on TW is going to be more than those other spots.

Sometimes I see people selling them for more because they have the TRD branded ones and somehow think that justifies a higher price tag over the non-TRD branded Magnuson ones. But in reality they're the exact same, one just has the TRD logo. Nothing special about the ones TRD sold compared to Magnuson's.

IMO the most important things to watch for when buying one used are 1.) How many miles are on it, if it's over 100k and not rebuilt then that is a big bargaining chip on the price (if it's not already lowered for that reason) and 2.) is it a complete kit or will you have to source other parts

Yeah I gotta start doing that, so much BS to sort through though.

The TRD logo is where all the HP comes from though...

Also, if you have any dismantlers that deal with a volume of Toyotas.

The dismantler that I got my trans/t-case etc, seems to have an SC every couple months. This option can be dicier because they don't know the history of it so you'll have to assume it'll need rebuilt. They may play ball on the price, or they may not.
