BEWARE Retrofit Wholesale aka Eledobleu

    Beware of a member that goes by @eledobleu (not an approved vendor) and his website the retrofitwholesale.com

    I was part of his group buy for the 3rd gen Tacoma Morimoto XB headlights seen here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/official-xb-led-headlights-thread-16.594520/

    I was an early purchaser (july 2nd) with the understanding of the wait time till arrival and shipment. As wait times increased and arising issues became apparent. I simply asked to be refunded (Nov 21st). Waited the 5-7 business days he stated it would take. Still no refund back to my CC and the headaches began. Then I was told to dispute the charge against the transaction from himself. However, I was past my CC time frame to file a dispute. I was told over and over again, that the refund was compromised. After being very patient through the whole process he agreed to PayPal me outside the original business transaction. Jan 5th he sent me a partial refund through goods and services. As I began to ask for the remaining amount, he filed a claim Jan 11th as "item not received". After no resolution with him or PayPal I was forced to refund back the money. Leaving me out of the group buy purchase price.

    Hopefully there is no other members dealing with the same situation as me. Luckily it seems everyone from this group buy received their lights. There was several from Tundras.com who did not get so lucky https://www.tundras.com/threads/morimoto-xb-led-headlights-16.40037/page-28

    This is a fair warning, anyone considering buying these headlights or any other product from eledobleu. Please look somewhere else besides the retrofitwhole.com

    A lesson to be had is keep an eye on your PayPal dispute timeframe. Once you get near it, start heavy with the questions, and if you get a bunch of wishy washy bullshit or excuses, initiate the dispute.

    If you only tried PayPal, call your bank. If your bank said no dice then sorry.

    Yeah, it was through my CC which is through my personal bank. It was a group buy and I knew the extended lead times. He was very responsive at the time and I was trying to be patient. Never been screwed by anyone on TW so I didn't peruse it heavily enough. Can't blame anyone, but myself at this point. All I can do is put the word out for anyone else that may decide to do business with him

    Yeah I mean it happens. You’d be surprised how many times this has happened to people over the years just on TW. I strictly remember a few group buys gone south as well as a few supporting vendors that have turned into cut and run operations.

    Anyone who regularly checks TW FB or Tacoma buy & trade universe also on FB. Please keep a look out for him. He's again, trying to sell under his personal account (Leo Wilson) and not mention the retrofit wholesale. Called him out on 2 posts and he promptly deleted them.
