According to jba the high castor moves the top of the spindle back towards the wheel well. Stock would be less castor and would be more towards front of vehicle but the reason folks want high castor for off road and on road is drivability. Was also explained to me in the form of the pivoting wheels on a shopping cart how they’re positioned in an offset way to let the wheel remain straight in any direction it travels for easy of steering.

If they sent the stock replacements it would be further forward. The high caster UCAs push the spindle backward to give more caster.

Knowing all this I’m half tempted to have them adjust the lowers as high castor as possible and still put on the stock UCAs. Definitely need no cutting then :)

It does look at the drawing I post above.
Positive caster will twist the top of the coilover toward the back of the truck. Caster is the rotation of the knuckle, roll the top of the knuckle backward gives you positive caster. So if you get positive caster the top control arm has to move back or the bottom has to move forward.

Hopefully they’ll figure this out here before they’re done.

That is exactly what you need to do but keep the JBAs and make them do that.

If you swap out the control arms you will have to go get them realigned

Hopefully they get it right with him requesting as much caster as they can get this time!

That is not necessarily true. I had stock UCAs for a while that adjusted as high castor as possible while maintaining factory camber and toe and still had to cut the cab mount.

Fitting a 33” tire on these trucks takes some work. Don’t get discouraged, you will get it figured out.

The lowers are all that are adjustable. There for the lower will move the wheel forward to gain more castor as the top is fixed. Giving small amounta of clearance. Factory will not help with this. They have to take from the camber adjustment to give more castor with factory control arms. This causes less stability and more tire wear. High castor control arms are how you get more castor while keeping camber at normal specs

Seems like Matt just threw some 33" tires on and hit the road with no problems!

Yes it does take a lot of work, they took away 2 degrees of caster when he got it aligned. They just need to align it with 4 degrees or more. with the built in caster on the JBAs it shouldn't be a problem

I think i could fit a 35 on my truck right now with my CMC and just get away with beating my pinch weld back and i would be fine honestly. But im not going to run that big of a tire. Ive go clearance for days right now.

I'm hoping not to chop either when I throw some 33" skinnies on... But I have a 17x9 wheel with 5.7 backspacing and 18mm offset, so we'll see. With the positive offset, I'm afraid my tire will hit my UCA, but maybe not since it will be a skinny.

The only reason i cut my cabmount is because i had -24 offset wheels. I would have no problems now.
