    Not only is it effective, if you use the correct facial expressions, its frightening.

    My son is about the most bold 5 year old I've ever met.

    He only responds to two types of punishment.

    1. The belt. I dont even have to spank him with it. He hears it sliding through my loops and he completely changes his tune.

    2. When I need him to listen or stop doing what he is doing, I kneel down and put his hands in mine and calmly, quietly but sternly tell him what I want him to do. Then I hug him and tell him he's my best good buddy and he usually falls in line.



    With my daughter....I just give her the look...or tell her "hey, that isnt cool..." and she listens.
