just found a 2005 base, reg cab tacoma. 4wd, 4cyl, 5 spd tranny. it has 105k miles and they are asking $10k. obviously this puts the tacoma at about 21k miles a year, i wont put maybe 12k a year on it.

is it too risky to buy this truck as a DD? i commute 12 miles to work one way so its not a long haul or anything.

    linky...

For a 4x4 thats a decent price. 105k miles for the 2.7 liter 5 spd is nothing, just breaking in.

Is it just me or does it look lifted for a base model?

It looks great! but if its gonna be your DD then you could save your money on a 2wd tacoma and maybe get an access or double cab.;)

    Good looking truck.
I think 200k would be no problem if you keep up the regular maintenance

You can expect 200k out of pretty much anything these days. That truck will do it easily.

Like everyone said that is a good price for a 4X4 2nd gen Tacoma. In a few pictures it appears that the tailgate is bent. That would bother me, some people it wouldn't.

I'd have them knock 500 off the price and live with it.

    Mine is bent BTW

I have 335,000 miles on my 86 toyota truck I bought new and 256,000 on my camry that I bought with 80,000 ten years ago.

Hopefully the original owner was good with keeping up with the maintenance, toyotas will go a long way if treated well.

Good luck with the purchase, the truck looks great!

i think your right...at least the front is...

but yah these 4 banger's will last you forever. just enough power to get on the freeway, but it will get good mileage if you drive it nice.

well i went and looked at it today. its got a small lift on it. looks to be in good shape aside from the tailgate.

i really want it since its so cheap, i got them down to $10k. i just cant help but wonder if i should wait out for an access cab. if im going to have this thing for a while, i might need the back seat one day. but i hate to let a $10k tacoma go too.
