    She and my FIL were heavy drinkers

    4pm Beers x2 each
    5pm Cocktails until dinner (usually 3-4)
    Bottle of wine with dinner
    Desert cocktails x2 (usually White Russians )

    Seven (yep 7!) nights a week!

    After my FIL died her health tanked a bit but she continued the same pace with her drinking and then some.
    She’s stubborn so we basically had to threaten to put her in a nursing home so she agreed to reduce her drinking.
    Now she’ll have a glass of wine or a beer but has no spirits unless she’s up having dinner with us (3-4 times a month).
    We do all of her shopping so it’s easy to restrict her and for the most part she goes along with the program although the last time we travelled before this last trip she did steal a bottle of Vodka wile we were gone!
