Not sure of names, was a woman when I called this morning and a man when I called later.

Im not sure where they got confused. I explained I needed the lower misalignment, for the lower control arm on a Tacoma with the +2 race kit and the lady explained the part to a T and gave me the quote. Then when I get the charged invoice its more than twice what was quoted, then there was the screwy timeline, and who charges an invoice for double the quoted price without updating the customer first? ... On top of all that Almost $67 before shipping for a single half of a misalignment spacer which shouldn't fail in the first place seems pretty price gougey to me.

K Im done complaining now, sting is wearing off of the initial gut punch for a little piece of metal.

Ridiculous price. I would've been disappointed for sure.

The DK LCA misalignment set with bolts is $115 lol. That’s ridiculous, I would call back and talk with someone else.

I think a callback would be pretty futile... the dude didn't seem too thrilled when I called about the invoice in the first place and just kind nonchalantly said yeah they are expensive.

Out of curiosity does DK use 1'' uniballs on the lowers? Is that for one side, both halfs of misalignement with bolt? Might save me some coin if this were to happen again.

@TOTAL CHAOS  willing to comment on not informing the customer about charging more than previously agreed upon?

I want to see more pictures of this part which is bad. I see you took a picture but I can't tell what it is and what is actually bad.

That picture makes it pretty apparent that the lower "shoulder?" that would normally hold the bearing up is completely gone from the misalignment. I have no clue what caused this, I installed these myself and torqued them appropriately. Maybe a rough hit from a rock on that side that initially deformed the misalignment and then maybe it wore away after driving on it for a while? I dont know, the bolt was still properly torqued when removed as far as I could tell.

If you would really like more pictures I can post some of whatever you would like to see.

Was just working on this to elaborate but yours makes it a little more clear.

I don’t understand that groove in both pieces either, the DK ones are solid until the flange part.

Ahh! That misalignment spacer! Thank you for the clarification.

I'm going to have to level with you here. I actually damaged a misalignment on my LCA some time ago when doing a uniball swap. I was lucky enough to be able to save it to be able to temporarily ride on it until I got a new one from Dirt Slut (King). When I bought mine I was quite dismayed to find out that I was going to pay about $90 shipped for a new one as well...

That price is normal actually and unfortunately these shops have a chokehold on the market since these are custom machined parts, so they can charge whatever they like and jack the shipping up since they know these parts are not just readily available at local parts stores.

What are you doing taking your truck apart knowing the garage won't close though?!

Yeah I don't know... I do know it IS really that expensive from them... Really wasn't trying to stir up shit, I originally posted in here because I thought I might be able to pick up a standard 1'' uniball misalignment spacer somewhere local but didnt realize it was tapered. The TC kit has been great other than this.

I don't know enough about machined parts to say one way or the other but when I looked at that I thought it was odd too.

But DK has both sides of upper and lower misalignments with bolts listed for $114?

One of those "this will only take a couple hours" moments

    I will learn one day

haha I was thinking the back end sticking out like a foot - I'd put it back together however I had to just to push it in.

Facepalm moment for you my man. Just lower your truck frame somewhere on your tire or a steelie if you have them, put both jacks on both sides of the frame, put the vehicle in neutral and have a buddy or a neighbor help you push in the rest of the truck. Easy peasy.

Truck doesn't fit in garage with camper, driveway to rough to push truck on Jacks

If I had to I could reinstall the bad misalignment and back it out. I live in a place I'm not overly concerned with it open for a few nights the extra work isn't worth it for me.
