TX minimum wage hasn't risen and we are getting the same thing. Walmart doesn't even want YOU in the store anymore, just order and a robot will deliver to your door. Well......he'll look like one.

Yep. Everyone wants $20 an hour. So... they can hire 20 people, and you will do the rest of the work. It is called, economics. Within 10 years, all fast food places will be almost totally automated. All those people screaming for $15 an hour will be out of a job. Americans think they can have it all... their cake, pie, eat it all and never get fat.. lol

Well, they are losing money (or making much less, who knows) in Seattle... Portland... NYC... so they make it up in TX.

Actually, the future is RFID tags on everything. Walk in, walk out and just be charged for it all. No clerk, no scanning.... Amazon does it already in some cities to a certain extent.

Really, do we need x ray techs still? I can stand in front of a machine and push a button myself.

I’d actually prefer this to self checkout. I have to admit I use scan and pay at Sams Club and I really like the whole skip the checkout plus you have a running total of what you are spending.

I like the self checkouts when I have just a few things but like cashier when I have a lot. The local wally world is really hit and miss as far as being checked at the door. Even when I do get checked its for big stuff not in a bag, 24 packs of soda, 30 packs if water. I told the girl they didn't have bags big enough for that stuff, thats the reason it wasn't in a bag. Of course she didn't understand that concept. Awhile ago they had a female midget, I'm sorry, vertically challenged person, as they're security checker. I thought yeah right, if I really wanted to steal something shes gonna stop me, right.

The girl at the door won't try. They just call the cops to come look at the tapes.

They're going to have AI watching monitors w/ facial recognition of mugshots.

I like self check out. Less lines. And..come on, a 2 year old could do it. BUT, I don't buy hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. If I did, self checkout would suck.

They scan the QR code on my phone and one item in the basket. Usually a large or expensive looking item. That being said, they really don’t “check” anything. I’ve thought about just walking past and not stopping like I do at Walmart. Since I already paid the items no longer belong to them so... The only reason I haven’t done it is I understand that this is a persons job and if I act like a jerk toward them I’m throwing shade in the wrong direction. The real person to deal with would be someone in a corporate roll who makes these decisions. Not the guy making $9 an hour.

I was just in Wal-Mart earlier tonight, don't mind the self checkout and no one bothers you on the way out the door.
