    also a good one. Blackout against Auburn is one of my favorite memories from games I have been too though, it was awesome. Probably only beat out by the Rose Bowl win.

    It’s a game rooster and much scarier than a tiger. Tigers are in cages at zoos. But I dare you to walk up on a game rooster in someone’s yard out in the country. He’ll run you back to your car screaming like a little girl.

    Also not generic like a tiger. Only other school with a gamecock mascot was the school I attended in Jacksonville State University.

    just never understood when an Alabama fan makes fun of Auburn for being the tigers and saying War Eagle. Alabama is literally the "crimson tide", tide being a slow changing of the sea level, and they have an elephant mascot. makes perfect sense, not.

    I kinda like the "war eagle" because it differs from the "go tigers". As folks have pointed out the tiger is a common mascot...

    LSU is SOOOOO different having a bengal tiger and that we spell it "Geaux Tigers", and people can totally tell the difference when we say Geaux vs when you guys say Go. Really differentiates us. oh wait....

    so to me the War Eagle sort of gets away from the norm..
