I just bent mine. The first one was too difficult to cut through, not to mention how much of a bitch it was to get into place, so i said fuckit.

Does this kit include a disconnect between the tailgate and the body?
Asking cause in the event that I have to Remove my tailgate or prevent my dealer from accessing the bed, I like having the ability of a quick disconnect.

The minimal method would be to unplug at the T harness in the passenger footwell area. That might be a pain though. As an alternative you could splice and install a switch and hide it.

o_O Its like 90% zip-tying the wires in place.
Just follow the detailed pictured instructions and you'llbe fine, you dont need a video.

As long as you rout and anchor the wires properly yes. There are two lengths of wire: a short one inside the tailgate that you dont want to anchor to the truck, and one that runs the length of the bed and goes intk the cab and plugs into the cars wiring harness. With that said when do you ever leave your truck with the dealer and not give them your key? You can still unlock the tailgate by key so im not sure who at the dealership youre preventing access to your bed exactly....

Yes it has a disconnect plug, similar to the camera. I haven't actually installed mine yet (hoping to get it done today) but I think you could simply disconnect the plug, then carefully close the tailgate and lock it using the key when you take it to your dealer.

Is the disconnect located outside the tailgate?
Or inside the tailgate, the same at the camera?
My current PopLock has the disconnect outside the tailgate, in between the tailgate and the body.

No conflicts. I’ve installed both the tailgate lock and bed lights in my 2020 Tacoma.

I've never attempted to remove my tailgate, but the owners manual talks about a disconnect for the camera just under the bed at the rear. Again, I haven't installed the tailgate lock yet, but page 19 of the install instructions seem to indicate a disconnect in that same location.

It wouldn't be difficult to add a quick disconnect, outside the tailgate, if desired.

There are disconnects for the camera and power lock. As a matter of fact in your glovebox should be a plastic bag with protective covers for the camera plugs. The plug is just inside the roll pan underneath. I zip tied the lock plug right next to the camera plug. No problem to remove the tailgate. And done.
