With the season we've been having so far, guessing I'll be in the clear up there.

I am IN on Niagara Rim... been waiting for the roads to open. I want to hit it as early as possible for a shake down run.

Niagara Rim is just beyond the end of pavement. Isn't there a gate just past the Niagara Rim trail head on Eagle Meadows road?

Maybe they will open Niagara Rim before they open the road back to Eagle Meadows and Long Valley... I know, I know, it's wishfull thinking.

Maybe. I know they wait until the creek crossings are doable before opening.

I’ve also never seen the second gate closed. They probably open them together :notsure:

Im definitely hoping for it to open sooner than later.

I think you're right... I've never seen that gate closed either.

Quit it man! You're crushing my hopes and dreams!

Pinecrest is lower elevation, I think, so perhaps little effect there.

Pinecrest is about 6000'. I think Murphys is like Sonora ~2000'.

:fingerscrossed: I'm hoping Dodge gets a dump so I can ski a few more days and break even on my season pass...

The turn off for Eagle meadows isn't that high maybe 6500' or so but it climbs quite a bit by the time you get towards the back; probably 8-9000'. Unfortunetly they close the gate right off 108 until those upper sections melt out. There are a bunch of cabins back there so I don't think the FS waits too long.

Going to Kirkwood, or Squaw, for the same reason, though I believe I'm already even. Just need to take advantage of the remaining snow days, as there have been few for me. I believe that forecast was for 6000 feet.
