there is a bmx course down at Oak Mtn south of Birmingham. I'm sure there is one closer to you, though, but if you ever made a trip down there for MTB/BMX many of us would tag along it's a great park.

It has been not only great for my son, but it is a fantastic family sport. It is an outstanding community to belong to.

I'm going to disagree. I run a bash guide on the big bike. Smashing a chain sucks, and they're not cheap to replace. I tend to buy more expensive chains too (last three times longer, better shifting), so running a cheap bash guide is nice. Colorado has some seriously rocky terrain, and lots of trees to hop over. Some damage from trees, some from rock ledges, some from big rocks being flung up. It's the same reason I won't buy a bike without a good downtube protector.
It's definitely terrain dependent, so if you're frequently riding terrain where you have to hop trees, ledges, and have loose big rocks, I'd throw one on. Otherwise, skip it.
As for the bike with only 2 holes, it's not meant to have a bash protector attached to the frame. You'll have to either find a ring (not sure one exists), or a new frame :)

I was on board until a few of the bigger hits at the bottom. I start to hesitate when there's mandatory bigger doubles/gaps ha. I'd have to see it first.

I need a bleed kit for my 2018 SRAM Guide R brakes (bleeding edge). All my previous stuff is mineral oil based so I'd like to get a dedicated DOT setup. I know I'll need the bleeding edge adapter, but does anyone have recs for a good kit other than the SRAM ones that might save a bit of money? Is the Pro kit worth the extra over the standard SRAM kit? Looks like you get better syringes and all metal fittings with the pro for about $20 more. $84+ is a lot to drop on a bleed kit though.

I think the SRAM ones are worth it. especially if you bleed your own brakes frequently. And if I remember when I was looking at the same thing you were...a few folks were saying that the SRAM kit just generally fits better and works better and has better syringes to be able to pull that vacuum. so I opted for the SRAM kit.

@ginseng27 did you do the standard kit (~$65) or pro kit (~85)? I'm leaning towards one of the two SRAM kits.
