What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I've got about the same set up in mine..with 285/75/17 Ridge Grapplers. There's only a little bit of inner fender liner rub on full lock. Went with 5.29's and ARB lockers and loving every minute of it. I haven't felt the need to even use my ECT since the re-gear. Waiting on that Income tax stimulus parts package, as well..Then going with SSO with high clearance bumper with side as well. Lot less than the CBI high clearance bumpers that I really want but those will have to wait a bit. Still got to finish off under truck protection, and get a rack or build a rack for my RTT. Then comes the kitchen, and then, and then, and then...it never ends does it????

If you have a 2020, it is as plug-and-play as it gets. Your truck is already wired for the lights. There are connectors on either side right behind the tail lights just waiting for you to plug them in. Those connectors are already wired into the circuit that controls your third tail light cargo light with a switch in the cab.

I did mine this morning while I was on break at work, and it took me exactly 11 minutes. It would have taken less than 10, but I dropped the 10 mm socket and it rolled under the truck. just look up Tacoma tail light removal on YouTube. that's the only tricky part, and it's not tricky at all once you see how it's done.

Just make sure you're getting the OEM 2020 version and not the prior one.

Simple plug & play for both?

 

Installed the OEM bed lights I got off eBay for $60 and free shipping. I have a 2020 OR, and it was the simplest mod I've done yet. Took me 11 minutes, and a 10mm socket.

For anyone else with a 2020 considering this mod, I highly recommend it. It's such an easy lift. All the connectors on the OEM lights are plug & play with the connectors already mounted behind the tail lights, and already tied into your cargo light switch.

Yeah i almost purchased a "OEM" for $25 then saw dove deep into sellers feedback. Apparently there is some sellers that have been repacking garage aftermarket stuff into OEM packages

 

This is exactly why out of the dozens of cars I’ve owned, only 1 has had an automatic transmission. PFM!

Welcome to ebay! There are many honest and ethical sellers there but you have to be careful. When there's money to be made there are always some who will do anything to make a sale and ethics go right out the window.

 

I'm not a huge fan either!

 

Any modifications that you had to do to make that work? I've used the GoPro mount for a GoPro, it's cool for a minute but ultimately there's better places to mount one if you want good footage.
