no crash yet, I have a gopro I use on a chest mount but haven't gotten it out since before christmas. will probably get it setup again this weekend and record the next ride. just got tired of filming the exact same trails over and over.

eh, there are and there aren't.

around here we have Monte Sano, Redstone Arsenal, and a trail near the Space and Rocket Center. This year John Hunt Park is supposed to open up a MTB trail too.

Other than that you have to drive to Oak Mtn in Bham, or Gville State Park for the next closest trails.

I wish I would have put this in bigger letters so that @newdles would have seen it more clearly and forced any of the alignment shops to watch it.

I sell lifts for all sorts of vehicles all day long (except it's a bit slow today, so I just read 15 pages of how UCA's did/didn't affect an alignment) and I send this video everyone that asks how to get it aligned properly. I wish it was me in that video so I could promote it more, but I can't. This is exactly how all Toyota IFS trucks that are lifted should have the alignment started, by pushing the tires as far forward as possible for maximum caster (regardless of tire size). Max caster produces the best ride, which Newdles has confirmed. A crappy alignment can also make you think your suspension doesn't ride as well as it should.

Hopefully everyone learned from this so that they can pass on the info to the next guy, and they can TELL their alignment tech step #1 of the alignment process on a lifted Toyota.

Here's the link again. It's a 3 min video, well worth watching to see how it actually works, and what they are adjusting. He word-for-word says what 3 shops told Newdles yesterday.

Let us know how the tune works out. Something I've been wanting. Particularly if it helps with MPG.

Doing it isn’t the issue. Getting someone who is willing to align the truck outside of their trained parameters was the hard part. Each place I stopped at said no when I asked them to do a custom alignment with caster set to 4+ degrees.

This is how I've been setting mine for years.

The key is to pull into a parking lot next door to the alignment shop, loosen your cams and max them out as indicated in the video, then pull into the alignment shop. They want to move them as little as possible and will start from the maxed out position.
