    Friday, September 4th - Monday, September 7th
Ok guys, after our successful 2018 trip I have decided to host this trip again but more towards end of summer this time so the weather is cooler and we can hopefully have campfires. I picked this date because the 6th Annual TW San Gorgonio trip is typically the 2nd to last weekend in Sept so this way anyone that wants to attend both can. I am also making the drive down from Northern Idaho so lets make this a big event! share this liberally.

RAFFLE: We have a few vendors who have donated their products for a free raffle which we will be holding Saturday night. If you know any vendors who might want to partake please send me a PM.

    The Details:
A group of us TW members have decided to head out to Mammoth lakes for an action packed weekend of overland style camping, off-road group trail runs, hot springs, fishing, breweries , hiking, shooting and all kinds of other shenanigans like usual. Open invite for all Taco owners and anyone who has an off road rig!

The ranger station said we can camp for free anywhere 2 miles outside of town.

Campsite: Off Grid Location a few miles outside of town 37.711871,-118.965107
Directions below, PM me for questions or more details.

Trails: Friday everyone is arriving so most likely night run somewhere
Saturday morning we are doing Laurel lakes.
Sunday either Bald Mountain or San Joaquin ridge
    • Laurel Lakes ( 4x4 required, recommend 32' or bigger tires and sliders )
    • San Joaquin ridge (2WD w/good tires ok)
    • Bald Mountain ( 2WD ok )
    • ?
    • ?
    Spread the word.

Here is a video one of the guys made from our first trip in 2018.

    DIRECTIONS TO OFF GRID SITE

Cell service is very spotty so I provided distance measurements below with pictures to help make sure you make the correct turns. We can fit about 20 trucks in this area and there are other sites very close by for overflow.

Heading North on the 395 you will turn left at Mammoth Scenic Loop and drive for just under 1 mile then Turn right ( 4th right turn) This is Dry Creek Cutoff Road

You will drive for 0.4 miles then turn right ( picture for reference )

Then you will drive for roughly 0.6 miles and the campsite is on the right hand side. There are actually 2 spots, one is closer and the other one is 0.6 miles in.

Off grid spot #1. This is the first one you will pass on your right. ( I was driving back out so its on my left in this photo) That guy in the motorhome was there both weekends in a row I went so if its open lets snag it!

Off grid spot #2. This one if 0.6 miles in on your right hand side.

Most of the back roads look like this, with some super soft sand sections mixed in so anyone with 2wd and good tires should be fine getting around. Its super fun just cruising through the back roads. And very fun for night wheelin.

Keeping my eyes on this, but slim chance I'll be able to go with San G so close to it. Thanks for the tag Jason :fistbump:

Definitely interested! Once the dates are finalized I'll check with my work schedule.. 9/4 to 9/6 would be preferred so it's not as close to san g trip.

I should be available most weekends from now on so count me in. I’ve been doing lots of exploring around the sierras this past summer. Lots of sweet new spots we can explore, 2wd and 4x4 north and south of the mammoth area
