    Pulled my battery and a head light for another project and found mine is pulling apart from another spot now also. I may try to do something with it since I have easy access right now.

    I'm a DCLB and since this seems to be from frame flex, I get to add an extra foot of leverage to make it happen. I also did the energy suspension radiator bushing swap and flipped it. Not sure if that added to the equation. Not sure what my final fix will be. I pulled it all back together and kept piling tack welds across it, but I haven't checked them since my last trip. These things are to thin to do any real welds to them.

    Yeah, I think by direct connect you are putting the absolute full power of the flex into the core support. At least with bushings, they are pulling a part of that force away through distortion. I'm interested in the double stack method but haven't looked deep enough into it. I would think other than a custom rebuild that it is probably the strongest you can get and stay as close to stock.

    I didn't. If you look at my pic, you can see the tear actually went right through a hole. If I can get back to it. I'll add a hole just for the fun of it, but don't expect it will do anything.

    Yeah its no guarantee, especially if the underlying reason for the crack isn't addressed. But it makes it less likely that the crack will continue along the path it was on.
