I don't know, I seen a lowered 3rd gen in Vegas a couple of months back. The truck looked pretty sharp, if you are into that look. This is America and it is your truck so give it a try. You can keep the factory parts Justin Case.

My very first love for the Tacoma was a lowered Xrunner. I loved the look of that thing man.

I will only bag it if it lets me keep or enhance the ground clearance as that is one thing i need to keep or slightly elevate as I also need to be ablr to drive thru upto 2.5 feet of snow for vol. Fire police work.
Maybe more of a sleeper hmmm.

Sorry, you won't get too much useful info here as many off road types have no experience with street performance or appearance mods and simply just don't get it. Verbal attacks help some people cope. Anyway, Wheels are the first thing and might help so much you won't even want to lower it. You can even get factory wheels in 18 and 20 inch I believe from a 4 Runner, and they will even be Hub centric. Aftermarket wheels give you many more options. Add the right lower profile tires and it wont look off road any more. In Winter re-install your winter wheels. Lowering the rear an inch or two gives it a much better road stance but that's not easy on the Tacoma. I'm usually empty so I'm building a lo profile weight box to lower my rear an inch. A member here suggested putting some weight in the back to lower it, I'm not sure is he was serious or not but it worked. 125 pounds in the rear of the bed is about right.

Oh hell no, "street truck" you are dropping it at least 2 inches. I don't see a way around that, I could be wrong.

There may be ways to make it look lowered without actually lowering it. I'm researching as i have 2 years to plan. Or possibly bag it to drop 2" in good weather and bring it back up in winter.

I don't understand how putting 'Z71' on the side of a truck made EVERYONE want a 4x4. Toyota sold more 5 lugs 'til TRD got slapped on the side.

If it ends up something like this:

Then yes, do it. Otherwise, no.

I agree but for me the color would be either red, blue, or the dark grey metallic.
White as a fire police hides to well in snow as does black out here with no street lights and grey is iffy in fog and dark skys my dark grey metallic tundra I currently lease has almost been hit 3 times while I have had to block and shut down roads with all my warning lights on!

Hellfire, I read in this thread I can't take my Sport off road. That's a shame.
