I've been going back and forth over email with some local dealers on a 2020 SR5 DCSB 4x4. One gave me a reasonable first-offer of ~$33k + $500 doc fee + TTL. This was for a $37,660 MSRP vehicle that they have on the way from factory but not currently on their lot.

Another dealer said he could get me an SR5 for $31.5k + TTL, which seems too good to be true. I'm sure there's additional fees that they aren't disclosing. They said they'd need me to come in and put down a deposit before they get the truck in 1-2 days (presumably a dealer trade?)

Don't fall for that. If they have to get you there, it's a gimmick. They can do it all online if they want to

I figured as much. I'm at least asking to see a full breakdown of fees, and an out the door price before I put anything down.

Looked at a nice 2020 , DC, V6 in quicksand yesterday. MSRP was 34,600. Another tag said underbody protection and something else. Price of that was right at 5000 dollars. No way.

A bunch of stuff added to the 2020s that a lot of people have been clamoring for - Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, power seat, 360* camera, LED headlights, etc. You may not think it is worth the extra, but plenty of others do!

Not surprising that you got such a good deal on a 2019 either, only a few more months and they'll be starting to be looking ahead to the 2021s and even the 2020s will start dropping in price probably...

2021's will be hitting dealer lots in only 6-months. Deals on leftover 2020's are coming shortly for Tacoma shoppers who are patient.

Too bad the inventory in Texas sucks. They neglected to order with the led headlights.

Southeast Toyota is the same way. Unless you get a Limited or TRD Pro, you're probably not getting LED headlights. They also only seem to have either the base model, with no tech package, or the Premium package and some combo of either Tech or Advanced Tech package. They don't have the Premium Audio and Dynamic Navigation package that everywhere else seems to get. I'm not sure about Gulf States Toyota, but Southeast likes to add a metric crap ton of overpriced options on all of their vehicles.

Gulf states usually does, surprisingly the only port add on with mine was the carpet TRD floor mats and only dealer add on was predator steps.

That's pretty good. Most of them I see around here have three different kinds of paint protection, Toyoguard, step rails, phone chargers, etc. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge more for the same things that other places get. The all weather mats are $169 outside of SET, but SET charges $329. The bed lights are $149, but SET charges $299. Mud guards are $129, but SET charges $199. The list goes on, but you get the idea. Even the delivery and handling fee on the window sticker shows a little higher.

Oh, and they don't list any rebates for the Tacoma. It looks like there's a $1,500 rebate outside of SET, but the dealers around here won't advertise it and they won't hardly talk about it, if this region even gets those rebates. It's all pretty annoying to me.

Add ons Running boards, mud flaps . Total 28,200 plus fees which in Oregon with the lux tax made it 29 K total. .

I experienced the same. I found that many Seattle area Toyota dealers wouldn't negotiate very aggressively. I ended up working with dealer down in Portland and got a better deal and experience. The truck I made an offer on in Seattle is still sitting on the lot. :tumbleweed:

I bought my 2020 TRD Off Road yesterday! MSRP $42,152 and got it for $37,300. It's my first new car purchase, so I hope I got a good deal honestly.

Picked up this one up last Friday for 39k out the door including the 7 year interior and exterior protection, lifetime tire/ rim warranty and 100k maintenance package. 2020 TRD sport 4x4 long bed. Msrp was 42.5k. Also got them to throw in the blackout emblem kit and taco bed Mat as well. Financed through dealer at 5% to get an extra 1k off. Went straight to navy fed the next day and refinanced for 2.49%. Also navy fed is mailing me a check for $250 for refinancing with them so that’ll be buying the new tanneau (or however you spell it) cover
