The A40's are by far the best headset I've ever owned. I don't play the music in game. I stream from my Mac to the mix amp and listen to my playlist from Apple Music. The sound quality is amazing. I've tried most every brand of headset out there and these are by far the best that I've found.

As @RearViewMirror nows I have the A40 and the A50 (wireless)
Had some issues with the A50 connecting. Turns out it was user fuck up.
Since then. No issues. Love them. Both of them.

If you're happy with your A40's you don't need to switch unless you want wireless. The sound is the same. I just chose the A40's since I have a dedicated space to play. If I played off of a TV or in a living room I'd go with the A50's.

I've actually got the DS4 back button attachment. It works really well once you get the muscle memory for it. I've got it set for jump and crouch for D2.

Ive been playing with Scuff controllers for a few years now. I didn’t even know about Scuff (or any modded controller for that matter) until I started playing Trials in D1. I was talking to one of the guys in the clan and we got to talking about how I wished there was an Elite controller for the PS4 like their was for Xbox. He told me he was using a Scuff controller and sent me a link on how to buy one. I bought my first one and it took a little while to get used to. Luckily all the face buttons still functioned normally so if I panicked I could always resort to using it like a normal controller. But over time I developed the muscle memory and now it’s hard to go back and play with a regular controller. I can do it I just don’t like it. The problem with Scuff is their build quality. When they work, they are great. But they are so poorly made that they just don’t last. Especially for the price.

This was the first one that I bought. The paddle on the back just broke one day making it useless. I wasn't stressing any harder than the other paddle so there was almost $200 (at the time) down the drain

I suppose I threw my second one away when I was cleaning out the office closet a few weeks ago. It isn't in my drawer. But it suffered from the left stick completely stopped working. I took it apart and tried cleaning it out. Didn't work. Got online and found out it's a common problem with the modules Scuff used at the time. Another $200 gone.

This was the last one that I bought. I paid about $225 IIRC because I completely customized this one. This one lasted about 9 months and then it started acting up. Now it is unplayable. Every time I press L3 to sprint it ADS's instead of sprinting. I have no idea why it does that as it doesn't seem that those two connections should even be close to each other. Movement and ADS are completely separate? But that's what it does every time I try to sprint.

I know there are other companies out there that make custom controllers for the PS4 but I just don't trust them. Some of them look even more cheaply made than a Scuff controller. So when my last controller broke I decided on going with the Astro. I've had the A40 headset for a few years and it's the best headset I've owned (and I've tried a fuck ton of them). I watched a lot of reviews and the only issue that I've seen anyone bring up is the thumb sticks wear out eventually. But... you can buy new thumb sticks for $20 and just literally drop them in. They also make thumb sticks that have more tension on them so I'm seriously thinking of picking up a set of those. The normal ones have the same tension as a regular PS4 controller but I would prefer more tension if I could get it.

The only issue I'm having right now is dialing in the settings on the thumb sticks. You can play it right out of the box and it will work just fine. Or... you can connect it to your computer and dial in anything you want from trigger pull to the dead zone and movement of each individual stick. So I've got the triggers set perfectly but I haven't dialed in the sticks yet. I normally play on 4-6 look control in game depending on if I'm sniping or using a shotgun. Sniping I'll lower the setting to 4. Shotgun I'll raise it to 6. But the software "kind of" overrides the in game settings so I just set it on 5 look control and start adjusting the thumb sticks from there. I asked one of my clan mates that is on our Trials team to go into a private match with me last night because I was trying to set up the sensitivity of the sticks but I was over shooting my sniper shots and my aim with the hand cannon was over his head quite a few times. I went into a private match with @Pchop later on after I had adjusted the sticks a little bit more but it still isn't dialed in. I got a few good snipes off but they certainly didn't feel as crisp as normal. Normally I can snap to someone and get the shot off quickly since I play pretty aggressive with a sniper (ask @Pchop... he knows ;) ). So I'm going to mess with it some more today. I'll get it dialed in and then it will be deadly. It's useable right now but I want it to be perfect.

I looked at the Back Button attachment that you have on your controller and it's nice having the extra buttons on the back because your thumbs never leave the sticks. I just wanted more control over every function of the controller since I'm playing in the highest stake game mode in the game. That attachment didn't offer it to me personally.

Oh... and you have your bottom buttons set up just like mine. I have my left bottom button set to jump and my right set to crouch (shadestep "double tap"). My thumbs never leave the sticks which makes it great for shotgunning someone in the dome while airborne. Being able to turn in mid air while jumping is invaluable in PvP. Also being able to slide around a corner and pull off a quick shotgun shot when you know someone is waiting there is great. Being able to slide around a corner and slide snipe someone? No better feeling in the game.

One quick tip about playing in PvP that I don't think many people think about when playing on console. Turn off your rumble on your controller. Rumble fucks up your aim. It's a cool feature when you're just fucking around in the game but when you are playing PvP? It hurts you more than it helps. If you are getting shot you don't need the rumble feature to tell you that you are getting shot. You already know that. When you are shooting you want to be as precise as possible. Rumble fucks that up.

This is why I don't worry about FOV on console. Yes, PC players get to adjust FOV but the FOV I have with this monitor is just fine. It's much better than a 16:9 aspect ratio screen. So if you have a spot I HIGHLY recommend an UltraWide Monitor. This one is 4k UHD with HDR enabled so it looks as good as the game can display. When the PS5 comes out I'll replace it with a 5k UltraWide monitor since the PS5 is rumored to output 5k at 60fps.

What makes this such a good setup is I sit about 4' away from the monitor and it takes up my entire FOV because of the curved monitor.

Well... I might make it to 330 this season. It's skewed though because I haven't played as much this season as opposed to last season. Last season I think I only made it to the mid 100's on the season pass. The only reason it's so high is because of the tower obelisk and picking up 6 bounties at a time then turning in 4 Fractaline and completing each bounty. It was a good way to get god rolls on weapons and I got a few god rolls on the Bygones (which I still think is the best pulse rifle in the game) so it was worth it. I still have almost 20,000 Fractline that I have no idea what to do with? I'm not turning in anymore bounties since I've got all the god rolls you can get out of the obelisk. So I suppose they will disappear on Tues.

Finally got around to cleaning out my vault. It was completely full. I got rid of 100 things that I really didn't need but there are some things that I just can't bring myself to delete. I'm pretty sure that I don't need 14 Redrix Broadsword's but I just can't delete them. I've still got the original Redrix Claymore. But considering I got it during the worst time in PvP history of Destiny I can't delete it. At least I've got a little space now. But I'll fill it back up pretty quickly next season.

So @Pchop and I played a lot of Crucible tonight and it was a fucking blast. I've just about got the controller dialed in. It needs just a small amount of tweaking but it's getting pretty close to dead on with the sticks. I don't know how many games we played but the first few games were extremely fast paced. It was a lot of fun. One match I came within one kill of getting a "We Ran". I had a 19 kill streak and was dueling with the 20th guy and he got the first shot off and shut me down. Oh well... It was close. I checked my emblem and so far I've gotten 28 "We Ran" medals so that would have been the 29th. Ended up with 36 kills and 4 deaths. I can handle that.

I recorded this match because 1: I was going to use nothing but a sniper the entire match. As long as I had ammo I wasn't going to use anything else. My aim is slightly off but I can fix that with a slight fix on the controller since it's almost dialed in completely. 2: At the 8:33 mark in the video I had one of the best plays that I've had in quite some time. I shut down a Dawn Blade in while we were both in the air with a tether and then turned around and killed him. It was pretty epic as something like that doesn't happen very often.

@Pchop didn't have his mic enabled in chat for recording so all you hear is my voice. I started off strong but running around with just a sniper and nothing else is pretty rough. But it was a lot of fun just fucking around seeing what I could do with just one weapon.

@Pchop is getting much better at PvP and is really starting to learn the maps and how the rotations work out. I don't think he went negative at all tonight.

This is why I play so aggressive with a sniper. I was using the Revoker but I really should have been using one of my Beloved snipers with the Spare Rations. The Spare Rations is a fucking beast. The controller is dialed in perfectly for the hand cannon and it will three tap anyone and with multi killclip it will two tap as long as it's active. It is by far my favorite hand cannon. I had the Not Forgotten equipped and you can see how far the range is on a couple of kills when I didn't have any sniper ammo. It's unreal with its range.

Here's the video from my perspective. Sorry you can't hear @Pchop (waxxer420). Next time I'll get him to turn on his mic in chat for recording.

Finished out the season at 329. Suppose I could have gotten it to 350 if I kept turning in bounties to the tower obelisk but what was the use? I get every god roll I could get out of it and still had over 20,000 fractline left over at the end of the season.

I am looking forward to this season though. Going to be doing nothing but grinding power level this week. Hope those of you that still play hoarded bounties so you can turn them in once you get access to the artifact in the season pass. Don't turn them in immediately. You will have the first five levels of the week go by fast due to the XP boost at reset. Once you get access to the artifact then turn them in. It should open up at least the first two columns of the artifact which will give you a head start on everyone else. Power level will be a thing this weekend with Trials because this will be the only weekend that the artifact will be active. So don't think there won't be people out there grinding the shit of of the game anyway possible. I'll be one of them.

Got the controller dialed in probably as good as I'm going to get it. Pulled of some pretty good snipes on the one game that @Pchop and I played. We won ;)

Oh... the DL is a little over 4GB's but it's taken about 20 mins to install the patch file on the external SSD.
