    However, like I said, they were not issuing the Real ID licenses yet; In addition to my current license, I have to show my passport or my birth certificate, two proofs of residency, and my social security card!

    This is after I've been in the system as a licensed driver for almost nine years!

    I also believe I have to get fingerprinted! I could stick with a regular license, as a Real ID is not required, but I want to get this over with because I'm not gonna have my military ID forever...

    Get all your stuff and get it done! If you have everything you need then I'd take a day, go early and get it done. I don't fly hardly ever so I'm not stressing on it yet.

    Hawai’i had it for a few years, Oregon won’t have it till July. I have no plans on getting one right away since I have my military and passport already.

    You should renew it ASAP. Some countries won’t let you land if your passport is with in 6 months of expiring.
