RCD 4.5" Lift ,Moded to 5.5",1.5 inch Toytec AAL Light Raceing UCA's, 285/70/17 Duratracks, Procomp 7028 Wheels 17X8.5x4.75, Leer XQ Shell,Keyless Entry,Bedrug, Kartec Front End Limiting Straps.
Very stout kit,Heavy duty spindles, 1/4 inch thick drop brackets, nice polished stainless steel lateral struts
i was able to easily remount front skid plate
the ride is wayyyy better then the 3 inch spacer lift i had, an i would have to say it rides better then stock,RCD did a great job on these shocks
now the 4 in block in back works, no Axel wrap,or vibes, but not the best way to go,I'm looking into a 6 in spring for the back
this kit can easily be made into a 6+ kit , i add 5/8 spacer [little over 1 inch of lift ]on driver, an a 3/8 spacer on passenger [about 5/8 lift][taco lean]
i went from siting at 38 1/2 inches with 3inch kit, to 42 1/2 inches with the modded rcd kit, now i don't under stand how i gained 4inches when i only lifted around 2 inches more over, my 3inch kit:?[ same tires] ,but all take it :D
pic 1 shows the add spacer
pic 2 ground clearance under drop bracket
pic 3 drop bracket cut, chrome lateral struts

The reason is that you need to get your alignment done again. Your tires went from: |---| to \---/ so the tilt of the tire riding on it's outer edge is what is giving you the added lift.;)

    Been there done that!LOL!
    Good Luck!

    bet you're right.

If the truck drives forward the front lifts, so drive straight back for 20 feet and re-measure....

even with the bigger rim 17/8.5 wit 4.75 backspacing, Ive got a 1/2 inch clear, not rubbing anywhere, an did some hard 4x4ing last night, with 7 people an about 200lbs of paragliding gear, ran that suspension through the gauntlet

^the steering knuckle has a sharp little lip on it (on the spindle) the tie rod end has a rubber boot, if you spindle was like mine and sharp then it will cut thru the rubber boot on you tie rod end....

look where you tie rods connect to the spindle

    nothing to do with wheels.

My spindle might have been a defect from RCD or the tie rod was a defect from toyota who knows, but the little rubber boot rubs on the steering knuckle which just so happened to be sharp and cut that boot right open

I have since fixed this but I had to get new tie rod ends and had to grind down the sharp part on the knuckle
