yeah, I have an evap leak issue which I think is related to the rust going on around the tank and fittings / connections so I'm on the fence with a premptive replacement of my gastank... next time i'm over there I'll be doing a bit closer look at how bad the rust is...

Yea they are all the same trans basically. I found that pennzoil stuff because at the time the only fluid people said you can run was the Chrysler factory stuff that was like $17qt in 2001 dollars.

Busy day/week - got the timing belt and water pump done, valve cover gaskets done, threw on a Mazda 3 shift knob, threw on a Camry SE steering (though the cruise isn’t working yet), lighted ignition mod, and installed my modified 4Runner center console. Will see how the Scion headunit I got is going to look, so I might not keep the aux/usb/12 volt panel, but it was a fun Project to figure out.

Lastly, threw on some ‘04 flares to see what I think compared to the original ‘00 flares.

It’s a BC logging industry thing. The box is made of plate steel, and high clearance. These were made for full size trucks with 8’ boxes, right their to the 80’s Toyota mini trucks. And it fits this dc, albeit with some work. Lucky enough, I know a welder!

This one is steel, so I don’t spend too much time getting this thing together. But I’ll be building one out of aluminum next winter.

Have several M12 and M18 tools myself; this one lives in the truck while my M18 impact stays at home

    20200307_112504.jpg

Keep an eye out on that Hex Impact though; not sure if it affects the M12 variant but the later M18 version has issues and many people have had theirs serviced/replaced.

Oh really? I didn't know that about the M18 fuel impact driver. That's the only one I've ever had an issue with. Trigger switch burnt up, granted I was putting it through the freaking ringer. Home Depot swapped it with a new one for me on the spot, which was cool. I wonder if that's the issue others are having with it? The trigger switch?

It was specific to the hex mechanism...I can't recall exactly (I'm at work) but if you look it up, a lot of people have had issues with theirs.

I found out by looking up reviews since I was trying to justify the purchase for a one time use.

My 1/2" impact though? I use it every time I find an excuse to do so :D

Oh okay I missed that in your first post about the hex chuck/or anvil or whatever it's called. Haven't heard of that issue but it's good to know for future reference:D
    The more you know...:burp:

Took the dc for a good wash, got it ready to weld up. Definitely have some work ahead of me to get this thing solid again, but once done, she’ll be good for a while. Fuck is a prerunner without a box useless in fresh snow. Even locked with ice/snow tires!!

It's difficult to get to the front of the tank though. I used a bottle jack to open mine back up a little.

Yea it can be tight. But I’ve managed before. Crazy how many people destroy
Gas tanks around here on trucks.
