Yes, Krown on the Integra from 1992-2002, and then I stopped getting it done. The Tacoma was sprayed on Feb 28.

Dude I envy you. You have so few REAL problems you’re under your brand new truck inventing things to worry about.

Ignorance is bliss. Drive the fucking thing and if you need something to worry about invest in the stock market, get married, have a few kids quick then get divorced.

Ignorance is usually a death sentence. Fuck it, I won't maintain it and not worry till it fucking falls apart around me. Ignorance is not bliss it's just being lazy.

I wonder sometimes, the ignorant ones just kind of seem to go along through life, not even aware of their ignorance and a whole bunch of them seem to be succeeding. It's never been my way.

Thats just staining/light surface rust. Nothing too concerning. Besides, your doing the right thing getting it Krowned every year. I do that too. If you have ever seen ten year old Tacoma trucks that has been Krowned every year, You would not be worried at all. They are also full of shit about it voiding the warranty. Krown is a standard procedure for vehicles in Canada. You should probably inform them that dealers spreading falsehoods about their product.

I'm getting educated on how these products work together. One, the 3m is the anti-corrosion piece of the puzzle which should be part of the factory process after whatever zinc baths the parts get in production basically, and my part is the rust proofing after the fact for the assist in keeping water out and things rust free.

I have owned many cars but never really looked deep into the intricacies how they are built and put together, and all the little bits and pieces specially built to do each little thing.

Yeah, I went back to Krown to let them know, they were the ones that pointed out the rust in the first place. I don't know what the manufacturers use when they push rust proofing, but science, chemistry and physics are all at play here, and from what I know the best products are products that stay in liquid form (Krown), and seep into all the nooks and crannies forcing the water out, and preventing rust from starting.

Toyota Canada has been made aware of the issue and my concerns, I'll keep a file open and see what they have to say and take it from there. I appreciate all the feedback, responses and conversations.

I went this route with the 17' i just picked up off lease - https://nhoilundercoating.com/. I will get it reapplied yearly - the northeast is a fickle beast!
I used Eastwoods rust preventer on the 08' I had that has been passed on to my son - when I had the frame inspected one last time before the warranty expired the service manager told me he'd never seen a cleaner frame on that vintage truck and wanted to know what I had done. https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-h...mOswi9jZwJT0Zjgfy5_u8Ue6jyy1FAYBoCgPcQAvD_BwE

I am a mechanic at an independent shop and it’s normal to see “rust” like that on all manufactures frames.
