Morning - Did my monthly undercarriage inspection and I found this hanging down between the driver side Catalytic converter and front shaft from the transfer case. All my o2 sensors are intact and I'm not throwing any codes. I'm baffled! Harness runs up and back into the top of the transmission. I ran through the wiring diagram and didn't see anything that immediately stuck out as this sensor/bung/ mystery cable. I'm nervous to drive her until I know more.

I shared some solid amateur video if you need more reference ;). Thanks in advance guys!

Im pretty sure sure that's your transmission breather. Follow the hose up, if it connects near the top of your transmission, we have a bingo.

As mentioned above, it's a breather.

@JustAddMud - should I just coil it back up and zip tie it in a short loop? Or is there a bracket I should be looking to replace?

If it is your breather I believe it clips in on the driver's side rearward corner under the hood. The diff breather should be right next to it.

Oh and by the way I love a good mystery bung.

Yeah, you should be good to zip tie it back up. Depending on the age of your vehicle, the clip could have rusted through or broke. Grab a heavy duty zip tie or metal tie tab and zip it back up in your engine bay. If you are really feeling frosty, you could replace the hose with some longer rubber fuel hose (ID 1/4") and extend that breather up into your engine bay and park it near your other breathers (if you're a 4x4). There will be 2 similar looking breathers near your battery. They are for your Front diff and ADD actuator. This is one of the Mods I still need to do since I relocated my rear diff breather.

That is a vent. You should fasten it as high as you can above the trans to minimize water ingress.

These breathers are your Front Diff and ADD breathers. If you routed your transmission breather and brought it up to this level, that would be savvy.
