    Hello TW.

I recently bought a brand new 2020 TRD Off Road Premium in Alberta, Canada. It did not come with the LED lights and the dealership said that in Canada they cannot put them in, even if I paid extra for them. Anyone else have this issue?

    Thanks.

It's a separate package. Premium doesn't necessarily include LED headlights.

I know it doesn’t come with, but the dealership said that I can’t even order it separate and have it installed later on as it doesn’t fit. That’s the part of this I’m asking about?

Probably something with the wiring harness being made for LED lights

I’m pretty(99.9%) sure that in Canada none of the 2020 premium(off road or sport) come with LED headlights. Only daytime running and fog lights are LED. One of the reasons I opted for a 19 TRD Pro instead of the 2020 off road premiums. It seems like in Canada Toyota is 1 year behind US models for some reason. My 19 Pro doesn’t even wireless charging and can’t connect to Toyota App with it.

The person to ask is @Jeff Lange . He can answer this question correctly. My understanding is that only the Pro has LED headlamps in Canada. I might wrong.

    Pro and Limited.

The wiring on the truck is different between LED and non. The dealer isn’t wrong, at least from their perspective. There are people making adapter harnesses to use the new headlights but they’re not something you can get at the dealer.

Does that mean that when the truck is on the factory line in Texas it gets two separate wiring connectors. 1 for American bound trucks & 1 for Canadian bound trucks?

*edited ... Disregard, I understand it now. Took me a second or two.

Arb summit bumper. Morimoto led headlights and new grill. Grill and lights have sequential turn signals.
Or go with morimoto led aftermarket lights.

The factory line has a lot of different wiring harnesses based on what options the truck has or doesn't have. Destination country and headlight type are just a couple of them. The build specs dictate which harness is picked for the build, and it gets delivered to that assembly station as required.

If you want to put in a different option, you either need to hope that the harness they built was common to trucks with and without that option (in this case, it isn't), or you'll need to adapt the wiring that you were given to work with the other option. Adapting the wiring is typically done in one of two ways, either you cut/splice the existing wiring, modifying it to work with the new option, or you build a plug and play adapter harness that can go between the factory wiring and the new option without needing to modify the original component(s). Either way can be used for the headlights, however Toyota doesn't offer the adapter harness and most dealers wouldn't be comfortable modifying the factory wiring - this leaves either doing it yourself or finding someone else that can do it for you.
