This is hard to argue with especially considering their short lead times.

Looks great. Makes me glad I chose those. The wait will be worth it.

I also vote metal tech (OPOR). They are local to you, no tax, no shipping and 5% TW discount. This is what I was going to get until I found some caliraised 25° locally on CL yesterday.

They are really heavy duty sliders and 100% bolt on. Bamf usually has a few sales through the year. Their lead times are long though. I waited close to 14 weeks for mine. defiantly worth it if you can wait.

One of my buddies has metal tech on his 5th gen 4Runner and his had rust water dripping out of a seem that was not fully welded in less than 3months.

Yikes. Hopefully that was just a mistake and not representative of all their work.

Perks of buying in person...you can check the welds yourself

You are so close you should just go check out their shop and talk to them. You certainly don't have to buy if you don't like the product or the vibe.

Yeah, might do that. Probably gonna check out a TW member's truck with them this week at the least. Metal Fab would be about $45 more than the RCIs I have my eye on. Negligible.

He did buy them in person. It was a small hole/seem where the weld didn't entirely wrap around a tube. I'm not sure what ever came of it. Maybe they fixed it for him.

They are still an hour drive from me one way, with no traffic. So I'd have to be serious to spend probably 2.5+ hours total to go check them out.

Trying to figure out if any slider offers better coverage and protection in these area vs others. [IMG]

Very hard to figure out from just looking at pictures on the internet.

Where's the RCI gang at? I know someone has pics of these on their Taco.

Quite a few things at this point..
When it comes to those 2 spots, I personally haven't found any with coverage there. Some are a tiny bit longer than others, but will still have gaps there. Geometry and angles are what keeps those spots safe when it comes to the majority of situations. Plus, the type of rock that it'd take to cause damage there would be pretty avoidable.

It's a great question! I had the same before. I don't have all the answers, but keep the questions rolling I say :)

There’s a thread somewhere comparing a bunch of sliders on this exact thing.
