93 Prem SuperFob - Wow, Matt! You nailed 1st gear! Very strong and oddly smooth into 2nd and the middle gears. 5th-6th still a little something to be desired. Put 40-50 miles on the tune so far and wouldn't be surprised if the ecu "learning" tempers some of my early excitement. If the experience lasts, this is the best release....by far!

I think Mat nailed it as best as he could without actually having a test truck in the shop. I bet when he gets a M/T test truck he can smooth over any small kinks and make this even better.

Definitely. This is about as close as can be expected without an MT for butt dyno testing. Throttle and torque mapping are out of the park good. You can't even compare it to the stock tune. There are no similarities other than the skinny pedal makes the truck go. The driving characteristics are completely different.

You can't even compare it to any of the previous beta or test tunes, this is a completely different animal now.

I doubt he will touch this for some time now that it is out. He'll be focused on finishing AT and then moving on to turbo stuff.
I know he says he still wants to get a MT and perhaps when he does he will go over it again, but with, what over 6 months working on 2.0 (since the beta came out), my guess is hes moving on.
I would love to see what he can do with an actual MT truck to work on, but I think what he has released now is nothing short of amazing.

OV Tune released 2.0?? I’m out of town on business so I have questions.. Did the update to the flash software come out so those of us who have a 2017 handheld can download the 2.0 files or do we still need to receive the files via email from @OVTune ??

While I am enjoying 2.0 SFOB as much as everyone else (if you are on the fence about buying the tune, it is well worth it), my concern is that after experiencing similar euphoria when 1.5 was released (2.0 is head and shoulders above 1.5), the performance of 1.5 seemed to be blunted over time, perhaps, as others have mentioned, due to learned values. Do we expect this to happen with 2.0? If so, has anyone experimented with trying to find an optimized schedule (every 1000 miles? 5000 miles?) for clearing LVs?

i have been on the same 2.0 beta for months. my performance has inched better, not worse at all, but i also never had performance/response degradation on any of the tunes before 2.0. but LV's are all about driving style, so the question is probably not easy to answer. the answer is coming, though.

Ok, just got back from 50 mile ride. City streets>mountain canyon>highway. (premium super fob file with 91 gas in tank)

    A few takeaways:

    1) I can not believe how quiet and SMOOTH the engine feels and sounds! It's very weird to be honest Maybe it's me, but IDK. Under acceleration obviously its not as quite, but even then it feels smoother and quieter. I don't know if that's due to Mat's unicorn blood he added or something, but I LOVE how it feels. :) On a similar note, the choppy on/off throttle I felt with 2.0 beta is 99% gone, which adds to the smooth feel of the engine and throttle response.
    2) Shifts: WTF! How are down shifts and up shifts smooth as butter now? 2.0 Beta was pretty good, but this is on an entirely new level.
Rev match is MUCH better as well.
    3) Power: UNREAL. This reminds me of 1.05, (which was the best overall file at the time I think) I can use 2nd in slow turns with much better response and feel. 2.0 beta was sluggish with 2nd at about 1500 RPM. Now it feels much better. Highway response and feel is so nice! 6th has power, better then beta. Even at highway speeds, the engine feels and sounds smoother.

4th gear on surface streets is an absolute dream. I kept it in 4th through most of the surface streets and it was just great.
I am going to go on another highway/canyon drive tomorrow up a VERY steep and long canyon here in Utah to see how she handles.

Going to give it about 1k miles and then try premium base file for reference.

    Well done @OVTune

My understanding is that the premium FOB file is the same as the 87 file and that once octane learning figures out whats in your tank it does it's thing. the 91/87 files are just starting points afaik.

FOB files offer the absolute max performance and a greater base line for it then the base files. But, I could be wrong.

I’ve put about 700 miles on the 2.0F 91-OL-STP-ACS file from Thursday. City, highway, 4lo crawling

I’m blown away by how much these new files have done for this truck. 4lo is vastly improved. I pretty much crawled around from idle to 2500 rpm for half of today.

it still catches me off guard how hard 1st and 2nd gear pull now. Truck takes off like a rocket.

UPDATE: I raced my friend with his tuned brz again. Here are the results. 40mph to 105 races. On 1.05 performance 87 octane, I would be next to him until after 2nd gear, which he would start pulling away. 2.0 beta, I got rekt pretty bad. 2.0 SuperFOB on 90ish octane (had half 87 and half 93) and I was neck to neck with him until after 100. Love this tune! Is mat gonna make any more catted dump tubes, and would I still pass VA emissions? I figured since it has hiflow cats, Id still pass. Stock y pipe
