A 16" Pro comp steel wheel that fits

Thanks for the reply! Those are awesome looking and exactly the ones I've been looking at. The weirdest thing is that when I search on 4wheelparts, it says these don't fit my 2018 Tacoma SR5. I guess I'll just have to call them to confirm.

 

Don’t waste your time. Yes those wheels will fit.

 

If you read the earlier posts you'll see after a few years of running the wheels I basically destroyed them. They were so badly bent one cracked. Also procomp changed the design of the wheel making it no longer fit. The reason for steel wheels is that they are supposed to be more durable than alloy wheels, also when they bend you can usually bend them back. Unlike alloy that will crack and or shatter. I can tell you that after 3 years on 35s with these wheels my front end was rebuilt once but it also had 2 years on it prior and another 3 years before my purchasing the truck. A shock failure lead to more damage being done to the surrounding components as well. I don't feel like this shortened any lifespan whatsoever

99% of wheels barely clear the Tacoma calipers, hell my methods don't fit without spacers

 

You seem to have a lot of experience wheeling with after market wheels. Have you had any problems with a wheel that is close to the caliper?

 

Nope, as long as the wheel doesn't touch the caliper when mounted it will never touch when in motion, if it does you have much bigher problems.... So much bigger

Looking at putting the pro-comp 7069s matte black on my 2017, is it possible to add spacers to ensure they have enough clearance from the calipers?

My first Tacoma, so please bare with me...

the steel wheels will not fit without the use of a spacer (or trimming your caliper). The 69 series wheels will fit. The 69 series are alloy and not steel, hence why they fit. The mounting pad on a steel wheel is only the thickness of the wheel, where as the alloy wheel has a large mounting pad.

put some pro comp alloys on a couple years ago that were inexpensive and looked great to me... cannot find them anymore nor can i see my order for them on Amazon. 16x8 with -12mm offset looked like these
