Go to Vegas they have a huge machine gun place that has pretty much everything. Or you can make the trip down to NC have your truck regeared at ECGS and visit Triangle Shooting Academy and rent some of their stuff. Most of our outdoor ranges here allow you to shoot them if you got them or go with someone that has them.
Yes federally there is a list of serial #s of grandfathered guns then it's kinda up to your state. Like Conner said lots of little nuance laws regarding NFA items in some states. Owning at this point is also an investment/"rich man's" game. A full auto .22 (cheapest way to get into the game) is around 6g for a shooter. Plus a lot of these guns you aren't getting parts for so you better know and be ready to spend some bucks on a really good gunsmith..

Went to the offroad expo this weekend. Talked to some cool vendors, and caught up with a few of my friends that had their vehicles as vendor displays, etc.

23Zero caught my eye with their 55" awning that would have paired nicely with the tent for full side shade, but then things snowballed. As soon as I saw the 180R, the hook was set. Should be picking mine up tomorrow.

    Not much stock left.
I didn't go to the expo this year. I went last year and it seemed about 87.5% was dedicated to the side-by-side.

    Sweet awning!

Aluminum is an efficient conductor, but not good at holding onto the heat. That's why we have cast iron pans that are awesome and not cast aluminum pans.

Fun in the sand out at Knolls Friday+Saturday! Not too bad except the 20-40 mph wind.
