Ok. Typically when I would go camping we would put up my leather seats, put one of those full on seat protectors down, and let my very hairy golden ride in the truck with us. Now we have a 3 month old beautiful baby and her car seat sits in the middle. Naturally with camping season right around the corner I’m looking for options for the bed of the truck. Of course a camper shell either hard or soft would be ideal, but trying to save mo eh. Any ideas? Please help!!!

Dog kennel with jacket when cold and cam buckle tie down. The better the kennel the more protection he will have if you were to get into an accident or slide off the road. The ruff kennel is pretty good for the price.

I have a off road pop up camper with a roof rack so bed room isn’t an issue

Mud River has a very well made and well designed insulated kennel cover. I have one that I bought a couple of years ago when my dog(s), then Labs, rode in the bed of the truck in a kennel. Typically from fall to early spring and during bird hunting season, there would also be a canopy on the truck; so between the canopy and the insulated kennel cover, the dog would be well protected from the elements. But in especially cold weather, the dog(s) might get to ride in the cab.

Although the kennels I've used have been the inexpensive, light plastic ones; I would buy the sturdier, more protective, type if I had to make the purchase again. You want the safest possible situation for dogs who ride in the bed.

My current dog, Calli, a Pudelpointer, rides in the cab; but that's another story.
