I don’t think you can buy through that link. I clicked it earlier when I was browsing and there was nothing for sale. It was basically saying you can’t buy them in ca for road use. Yet their HQ is in California 30 mins from me lol

Just go down there and tell them the pipes are for your “race bike” and pay cash. I’m sure they know what’s up.

They’re up in Yorba Linda by my parents house. I’m gonna give them a call tomorrow to see if I can come in and do that

I gotta order elbow shoulder and back for the leather jacket. It didn’t come with any. The mesh jacket has elbow and shoulder but I don’t wanna be switching it out all the time

Quick update on my Sporty. BBK is installed and the engine is back together. Ran into a snag installing the pipes though. Because I opted for big fins on the jugs to better match the new heads, I couldn't get the flange for my exhaust to seat.
I couldn't even get the flange onto the exhaust studs because of interference from the fins, so out came the file. I ended up having to take about 1/4" of material off of the top fin of each jug. I took my time and tried to match up the contours as well as I could.

Yesterday I also got the carb rebuilt and rejetted. I'm sticking with the CV40 for now, but I'll be picking up a Mikuni 42 or 45 come bonus time.

Today I continued prep on the tank and I should be able to seal it tomorrow, then prime and paint the tank and new fenders later this week. I will say though, the raw metal look is starting to grow on me...

I also finished up most of the wiring harness. I had been chasing an issue with the speedometer not working (when you have a 2 gallon tank, an odometer is kind of important) and finally traced it back to the ignition switch. I have an aftermarket switch with 5 terminals (of which I only use 3). One goes to the main fuse, one to the starter relay, ignition module, and lights, and the last goes to accessories (speedo, turn signals, horn, etc). I ended up jumping the circuit for the speedo to the lights, so now all of my electronics appear to be operational.

I've got some more parts incoming, including new bars, new throttle housing, handlebar pod delete kits for clutch and brake, a starter solenoid push button to use to start the bike, a new oil bag and ignition cover plate, and a couple of other odds and ends.

Spent most of today in the garage working on the CB750 and F800GS.

CB750 got a bunch of engine gaskets replaced, oil dropped, new filter, new hardware on all the cases, some paint touched up here and there, and some electrical tidied up.

BMW just got an oil change/filter and a chain clean and lube. You have to let it warm up until the fans kick on to check the oil level. PITA. Takes forever when it’s cold out.

Also all this jacket talk has me itching for a new one :anonymous: Mines like four years old.

I want dirt tires for the grom but looks like I need to order a tall seat first. Stock seat is terrible for a 6’3” tall person. Probably going with a seat concepts, not rich enough for a Corbin.

Someone on reddit offered to sell me his rinehart slip ons for $200 that he’s had for 3 months cuz he just got a deal on a 2:1 full exhaust. Now I’m tempted to buy those instead :annoyed:

I mean I’m about ready to pay full price for either cobras or those Tab ones. $200 means I get to save $200 and put that towards other bike mods

I do want to get some armored pants... my regular jeans let a lot of air through

I think I’m gonna take the bike to work tomorrow if it’s not raining
