I think Hendo fell in love with his right hand more then his back injuries. He just competed in a grappling match vs bones not too long ago.

Yoel has his neck fused together from a broken c4 and also both of his menicus are completely removed from his knees. It's a miracle he's even still moving at all.

Some fighters don't just want a "win". They want a fight. You ever seen Justin Gaethje go for takedowns? He is a high level American wrestler too. Good thing too because if they were all like Khabib the sport would go bankrupt.

 

I think Yoel avoids wrestling in matches because he will gas himself out.

 

I understand where you’re coming from but a win is a win, especially in a championship bout. We’ve seen Jon Jones in a snooze fest or two. Same for Anderson Silva. I’d take my chances on being boring to get that belt because I don’t think Yoel gets another shot. Hendo cited back issues with his decreased wrestling but I’m sure he can grapple, jut not as much as he used to prior to all those injuries. I wasn’t aware Yoel had all those injuries.

 

His only answer at this point may be to carry a bit more (read any) body fat and fight at 205 so he doesn’t gas quite as much.

 

Yoel vs whitaker 2 is one of the best fights ever. Referees should watch that fight and learn. Those guys beat the hell out each other stumbing and shit. Was amazing.

 

Yoels got 10 more years. Izzy will be retired before he is. Haha

 

He's been in three 25 minute fights and went the distance 6 times in his career. He's never looked that much more gassed then any other typical fighter or the guy he's fighting. He seems to always recover in fights.

He hasn't gassed himself out in recent years because he avoids wrestling. The last time he went heavy on the wrestling/ grappling was his fight with Tim Kennedy. He looked completely gassed, dazed and confused at the end of the 2nd round. It is what prompted the stoolgate episode. After that fight, Romero began to rely heavily on his wait and pounce mentality. Izzy's description of Romero's game plan was spot on. He waits and tries to lull his opponent into letting their guard down so he can pounce with a quick burst of energy. If he doesn't get the knockout, he goes back to the same thing. It's wash, rinse, repeat.

 

Guess I'm going to miss UFC Fight Night April 11th in Portland Overeem vs Harris. Governor banning gathering of 250+ people for the next four weeks

 

You guys think Khabib vs Tony will be canceled for the 5th time?

so Brazil is still on right ? I figured it was safe being the closeness. fans are not allowed now ? I figure the khabib and tony thing just may not be meant to be man. honestly the one fight that I hope gets cancelled (don't shoot me and just hear me out why ok?), is Ngannou and Rozenstruik. I know I know it'll be a banger and someone is for certain to go nite nite (barring a Ngannou/Black Beast II scenario). But the main reason I don't want to see it now is I don't want either guy to destroy the other guy's hype train right now. I can see Ngannou getting a shot against Stipe or DC the winner or if DC wins and somehow retires and vacates the belt I'd love to see either Ngannou demolish Stipe or better yet, Ngannou vs Rozenstruik (i'm killing the spelling I know) for the Vacant title belt.

Bottom line: I love the fight but i'd love to see it under championship circumstances b/c I love the energy of either of those guys being champ. worse thing that could happen now is that you see a knocked out cold stiff Francis or Rozenstruik and that just kills the allure so soon, too soon in my book, but alas I digress.

Yup NBA is cancelled. Was suppose to go to a Blazer game Tuesday night but that ain't happening no more.
